Purpose of the Job

:



The Senior Simulation Engineer is responsible for independently managing complex simulation analyses and providing technical leadership within the simulation team. The role ensures high-quality virtual validation of products and components, enabling data-driven design decisions and accelerating product development. This job contributes by executing and overseeing advanced simulations, validating models, and mentoring junior engineers. It is essential for ensuring simulation accuracy, improving virtual testing capabilities, and connecting simulation activities with real-world performance

Major Responsibilities

:

Perform and lead simulation analyses:
Independently execute and supervise complex FEA, CFD, or MBD simulations. Validate results, recommend design modifications, and troubleshoot technical challenges.
Develop & validate new simulation model capabilities:
Develop new simulation capabilities. Correlate models with physical test results and continuously refine simulation accuracy.

Initiating new FEA-tools

Develop/ validate FEA-tool development

Rolling out to (potential) users
Review & guide simulation work of team members:
Support the Simulation Manager in reviewing project work, providing technical guidance, and ensuring adherence to simulation standards. Mentor junior engineers on tools, techniques, and result interpretation.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams:
Work closely with other R&D functions to gather requirements, provide insights, and recommend design improvements based on simulation outcomes.
Engage in technology scouting and continuous learning:

Stay updated with industry trends, new tools, and methodologies. Propose and implement relevant upgrades to simulation practices and tools.

Product Development groups & Pre-development:

Receive design inputs, share simulation results, and recommend design modifications.

Testing Team:

Correlate simulation results with physical testing outcomes and improve simulation models.

Process Team:

Evaluate manufacturability-related concerns and provide virtual validation insights.

EXTERNAL:



Suppliers/Software Vendors:

Discuss technical issues, software updates, and customization needs.

External Consultants/Research Partners:

Collaborate on complex simulation challenges and technology development.



Relevant Experience

:



5-8 years in simulation engineering roles, with proven capability in managing complex simulation projects independently. (Tyre simulation is preferred)



Education Qualification(s)

:



Preferably MSc degree in Mechanical/Automotive Engineering or similar,



Knowledge:





Familiarity with CAD/CATIA/3D Drawings and development / interpretation of FEA results and statistical experimental design


Deep understanding of engineering principles,

Material behaviour

Virtual validation techniques,

Product development processes

Physical test correlation

Decisions taken independently:



Selection of simulation approaches, setups, and parameters for complex projects

Review and approval of simulation results

Technical recommendations for design improvements based on simulation insights

Decisions made with reporting manager:



Introduction of new simulation methodologies, tools, or hardware investments

Process improvements and capability enhancement initiatives

Talent development plans for junior team members

Major Challenges:
