About the Role

We are looking for an experienced and strategic

Senior SEO Strategist

to lead SEO initiatives across client and internal projects. This role is ownership-driven and highly strategic, requiring hands-on expertise in SEO planning, audits, AI-driven SEO practices, team leadership, and performance reporting.

You will be responsible for driving organic growth, improving search visibility across traditional search engines and emerging AI-powered platforms, and ensuring consistent, high-quality SEO delivery across all initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

SEO Strategy & Planning

Define and execute advanced SEO strategies for multiple client accounts and internal projects. Lead technical, on-page, content, and off-page SEO audits and translate insights into actionable roadmaps. Own SEO planning for website launches, redesigns, migrations, and large-scale optimization initiatives. Build long-term SEO and AEO (Answer Engine Optimization) roadmaps aligned with business goals and evolving search trends.

Team Leadership & Ownership

Lead, mentor, and manage a team of SEO Analysts, ensuring clarity of roles and quality of deliverables. Review and approve SEO audits, keyword strategies, content recommendations, and monthly performance reports. Establish SEO SOPs, documentation standards, best practices, and quality benchmarks. Support team skill development, performance improvement, and knowledge sharing.

Client & Stakeholder Management

Act as the primary SEO strategy point of contact for key client accounts. Present SEO strategies, AEO insights, audit findings, and performance reports to clients and internal stakeholders. Ensure SEO recommendations align with client business objectives and measurable KPIs.

Analytics, Reporting & Optimization

Own SEO dashboards and reporting using GA4, Google Search Console, Looker Studio, and SEO tools. Track organic traffic, keyword performance, conversions, technical health, and AI search visibility. Lead competitor analysis, content gap analysis, and search opportunity identification.

AI, AEO & Future-Focused SEO

Drive AI-powered SEO initiatives, including AEO for platforms such as Google SGE, ChatGPT, Perplexity, and other AI-driven search experiences. Develop and review AEO-focused reports, schema strategies, entity optimization, and content structuring. Leverage AI tools for keyword research, content analysis, reporting automation, and performance insights. Stay updated on algorithm changes, AI search trends, and emerging SEO best practices, translating insights into actionable plans for the team.

Cross-Functional Collaboration

Collaborate closely with content, design, development, product, and marketing teams to embed SEO across digital initiatives. Guide developers on SEO-friendly implementations including Core Web Vitals, schema, crawlability, and page speed optimization.

Desired Skills & Experience

5+ years of experience in SEO strategy, execution, and leadership roles. Hands-on experience managing and mentoring a team of SEO Analysts. Strong expertise in AI-driven SEO, including AEO, AI search visibility, and entity optimization. Deep technical SEO knowledge (site audits, Core Web Vitals, indexing, crawlability, schema, JavaScript SEO). Advanced proficiency with GA4, Google Search Console, SEMrush, Ahrefs, Screaming Frog, and Looker Studio. Ability to translate data insights into clear SEO strategies and business recommendations. Strong communication and presentation skills for client-facing and leadership interactions. Experience managing multiple client projects in an agency environment.

Nice to Have

Exposure to international SEO (US or global markets). Experience with website migrations and CMS-based SEO (WordPress, Shopify). Understanding of CRO, UX principles, and content strategy alignment with SEO.
