About the Role
We are looking for an experienced and highly connected
Senior Sales Consultant
to expand our product portfolio and drive sales of industrial chemicals used in the
pharmaceutical, personal care, cosmetics, dye, textile, and speciality manufacturing sectors
.
The role involves
developing new product lines through imports
, building supplier partnerships, generating sales leads, and expanding the company's market presence across North India.
Key Responsibilities1. Business Development & Market Expansion
Identify and target customers in
pharma, personal care, cosmetics, dyes, pigments, and specialty chemical industries
.
Generate qualified leads and convert them into long-term customers.
Develop and execute a sales strategy to increase market penetration in North India.
Build relationships with key decision makers: procurement heads, R&D teams, plant managers, and sourcing teams.
2. Product Portfolio Development
Identify high-demand chemicals, ingredients, additives, and intermediates used in:
Pharmaceuticals
Cosmetics & personal care
Dyes & pigments
Industrial and specialty chemical applications
Work with global suppliers to
import new products
and expand the company's trading portfolio.
Benchmark competitor products and recommend alternative import sources.
Suggest new items based on customer trends and market gaps.
3. Import & Supplier Coordination
Coordinate with overseas manufacturers/suppliers for sourcing and importing products.
Evaluate product quality, pricing, and logistics feasibility.
Assist in negotiating pricing, MOQs, and long-term supply arrangements.
Support documentation for import compliance.
4. Sales Execution & Revenue Growth
Achieve monthly and quarterly sales targets.
Conduct client meetings, product presentations, and technical discussions.
Drive account management, order closing, and payment follow-up.
Provide accurate sales forecasts and market feedback to management.
5. Market Intelligence
Track industry trends, pricing movements, competitor activities, and new formulations.
Identify potential new customers and upcoming market opportunities.
Maintain a strong database of customers and market segments.
6. Technical & Commercial Support
Assist customers with product knowledge, samples, and application guidance.
Provide input for TDS, COA, brochures, and marketing materials.
Liaise with technical teams to ensure alignment with customer requirements.
Qualifications & ExperienceEducation
Bachelor's degree in
Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Pharma Sciences, Cosmetics Technology
, or related field (preferred).
Experience
5-15 years
experience in B2B chemical sales (pharma, cosmetics, dyes, specialty chemicals).
Proven track record of building new markets and managing key accounts.
Strong network of industrial chemical buyers in North India.
Skills Required
Strong negotiation and sales closing capability.
Understanding of chemical applications & formulation basics.
Excellent communication, presentation & relationship-building skills.
Ability to work independently and deliver measurable results.
Experience in imports and vendor coordination is an advantage.
Work Mode
Hybrid or field-based role, depending on business requirements.
Travel within North India to meet customers and develop markets.
