Job Overview

TE Connectivity\'s R&D/Product Development Engineering Teams conceive original ideas for new products, introduce them into practice. They are responsible for product development, and qualification from market definition through production and release; assist in the qualification of suppliers for new products to ensure suppliers deliver quality parts, materials, and services for new or improved manufacturing processes; conduct feasibility studies, testing on new and modified designs; direct and support detailed design, testing, prototype fabrication and manufacturing ramp. The R&D/Product Development Engineering Teams provide all required product documentation including, but not limited to, Solid Model, 2D/3D production drawings, product specifications, and testing requirements. They create and modify detailed drawings and drafting or conceptual models from layouts, rough sketches or notes and contribute to design modifications to facilitate manufacturing operation or quality of product. Typical fields of expertise include: materials, mechanics and systems, electrical, optics, chemistry, software, automation systems, packaging, testing and measurement, and manufacturing of electrical, mechanical and electronic components, products, and their integration into systems.

Responsibilities

• Define the ASIC floor plan and layout
• Define the power routing concepts and top level
• Determine AFE signal processing circuit layout requirements (e.g power management routing, parasitic non-ideality extraction) to meet overall system requirements.
• Perform layout design verification and debug.
• Work with the IC design team to ensure proper execution of our IC products.
• Collaborate with the validation, test, and qualification teams to make sure the product meets all the specifications and is ready for high volume manufacturing.
• Support technical documentation with specifications, block diagrams, and requirements to stakeholders.
• Collaborate closely with different departments/stakeholders including Test/Validation/Application Engineering, and Reliability/Qualification/Operations to resolve design, application, or test issues.
• Layout respecting Automotive ASIC Designs rules and best practices.

What your background should look like:

• BE degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent.
• 10+ years of work experience.
• Proven minimum of 10 years\' experience as an IC Layout designer in CMOS/BCD process (Low- and High-Voltage Analog Designs).
• Ability to read circuit diagrams and recognize critical structures.
• Proficiency in advanced schematic capture and layout tools (e.g., Cadence Virtuoso).
• Understanding of fundamental IC design concepts, including device models, layout, and non-ideality affecting performance.
• Self-motivated with strong technical, analytical, and communication skills.
• Manual full-custom analog layout experience in CMOS/Bi-CMOS process.
• Skilled in design verification and debugging (DRC, LVS) using verification tools like PVS.
• Ability to conduct feasibility studies, floor planning with many analog signal constraints, and power planning.
• Strong understanding of matching techniques.
• Design for Functional Safety and ISO26262 compliant ASICs.
• Experience in critical analog layout design of blocks such as temperature sensor, ADC, DAC, bandgap, current mirrors, comparator, and differential amplifier.
• Customer service mindset with a focus on delivering quality products and services on time.
• Fluent communication skills for effective collaboration with global teams, internal business leaders, and technology leaders.
• Self-motivated individual with strong planning skills, able to balance multiple competing priorities.
