QUALIFICATION

BE / Diploma - Mechanical / Production / Metallurgy.

Minimum 8-15+ years of experience in fabrication, machining-based manufacturing

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

A. Quality Assurance

Establish, implement and monitor QMS (Quality Management System).

Prepare and maintain SOPs, ITPs, Work Instructions, and revision control.

Conduct Internal Audits, coordinate external ISO audits.

Lead efforts for Continuous Improvement / Kaizen / 5S / Lean.

B. Quality Control

Develop and control Incoming, In-Process, and Final inspection standards.

Approve and release PDI (Pre-Dispatch Inspection) and documentation.

Ensure customer witness trials / FAT and close points compliantly.

Coordinate calibration program of all gauges, tools and instruments.

C. Technical Quality (Manufacturing Knowledge)

Strong knowledge of Fabrication quality (welding, symbols, WPS, PQR).

NDT: DP / UT / MPI interpretation and acceptance.

Experience in machining tolerances, GD&T, surface finish.

Ability to read complex engineering drawings.

Understanding of casting inspection and mechanical properties.

Knowledge of BOM components: Motors, Gearboxes, Springs, Bearings, Toolings.

Maintain traceability for critical mechanical parts.

D. Customer Quality Management

Respond to customer complaints, deviations & warranty failures.

Present CAPA using RCA, 5Why, Fishbone, Pareto.

Maintain professional customer interaction and inspection coordination.

E. Team & Vendor Development

Lead welders, inspectors, calibration personnel and documentation staff.

Train workforce on quality practices & inspection methods.

Conduct supplier audits, vendor rating & development plans.

KEY DELIVERABLES

Reduction in rejection, rework & warranty cost.

On-time NC reporting and CAPA closure.

Updated QMS documents; audit-ready always.

Compliance to drawing tolerances & PDI parameters.

Increased quality awareness among shop floor team.

DESIRED SKILLS

Strong knowledge of GD&T, NDT, Measuring Instruments.

Proficiency in ISO / QMS documentation.

Practical problem solving.
