The Mission
Saurabh Builders is expanding, and we are looking for a key leader to professionalize our supply chain. We don't just need a buyer; we need a
Process Architect
.
We are looking for a seasoned professional who has "been there, done that"--someone who can not only negotiate the best rates for Bitumen and Spares but also
establish a robust coordination system
between our remote Sites, the Head Office, and the Accounts Department.
Key Responsibilities
1. System Setup & Process Implementation (Priority):
Build the Process:
Design and enforce Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for the entire procurement cycle (Indent -> PO -> GRN -> Payment).
Bridge the Gap:
Create a communication channel that stops the blame game between Site Engineers (urgency) and Accounts (documentation).
Digitization:
Move the company away from ad-hoc phone orders to a structured tracking system (Excel/ERP).
2. Strategic Procurement:
Petroleum Products:
Handle bulk purchasing of Bitumen, LDO, and Diesel, monitoring price trends to buy at the right time.
Machinery Spares:
Expert sourcing of parts for Heavy Earthmovers (Excavators, Pavers, Rollers) with the technical knowledge to avoid wrong orders.
Civil Materials:
Bulk procurement of Aggregates, Steel, and Cement.
3. Commercial & Vendor Management:
Payment Coordination:
Work closely with the Accounts Department to plan cash flow and ensure critical vendors are paid on time to prevent supply stoppages.
Rate Contracts:
Establish Annual Rate Contracts (ARCs) for regular consumables to reduce repetitive negotiation time.
Candidate Profile (Non-Negotiable)
Industry Experience:
Proven experience in a
Road Construction or Infrastructure company
is paramount. You must understand the cost of a paver standing idle for 4 hours.
System Setter:
Experience in implementing purchasing systems or cleaning up disorganized supply chains in previous roles.
Technical Edge:
You must know the difference between genuine and aftermarket spares and understand site logistics.
Assertive Coordination:
Ability to hold Site Supervisors accountable for GRNs and push Accounts for timely payments when necessary.
