Identify, evaluate, and qualify suppliers for raw materials, fabricated parts, bought-out components, and engineering equipment.
Prepare RFQs, evaluate and compare quotations technically and commercially, and negotiate payment terms, pricing, and delivery schedules.
Develop and maintain strong supplier relationships to ensure reliability, quality, and competitive pricing.
To monitor market trends and prevailing material rates, to ensure cost optimization.
Conduct supplier audits and performance evaluations, and resolve supplier issues related to quality, delivery, or documentation.
To conduct technical review of engineering drawings, BOMs, and technical specifications to identify procurement requirements.
Coordinate with design, production, and quality teams to ensure purchased items meet technical and compliance standards.
Drive cost-reduction initiatives through value engineering, alternative sourcing, and bulk negotiations.
Ensure materials and equipment are delivered on time to meet project timelines.
Monitor quality certificates, test reports, and compliance documents (e.g., MTCs, inspection reports, statutory documents).
Maintain purchase records, order tracking logs, and supplier databases.
Ensure adherence to procurement procedures, ISO/QMS documentation, and contract terms.
Coordinate logistics, transportation, and follow-up to ensure smooth material flow.
Work Experience-
The candidate must be a graduate in Mechanical Engineering.
Must possess 2-6 years of experience in procurement or purchase engineering, preferably in process equipment, fabrication, EPC, or industrial machinery sectors.
Strong understanding of manufacturing processes: fabrication, machining, welding, and the ability to interpret engineering drawings and specifications.
Strong negotiation and communication skills
