Job Summary

The Senior Production Manager will be responsible for end-to-end production operations of

printing, lamination, slitting, and pouching processes

, ensuring optimum productivity, quality, cost control, safety, and timely dispatch as per customer commitments.

Key Responsibilities

Production Planning & Control

Plan and execute daily, weekly, and monthly production schedules for

printing and pouching lines

.

Ensure achievement of production targets with minimum wastage and downtime.

Coordinate with PPC, dispatch, and sales teams for priority orders.

Process & Operations Management

Supervise

gravure/flexo printing, lamination, slitting, and pouch-making machines

.

Ensure correct process parameters, ink control, solvent usage, GSM, and quality standards.

Monitor OEE, machine efficiency, and line balancing.

Quality Assurance

Ensure compliance with

ISO, BRC, FSSC, and customer quality standards

.

Control printing defects, shade variations, mis-registration, lamination issues, and pouch defects.

Coordinate with QA for root cause analysis and CAPA implementation.

Manpower Management

Lead, train, and motivate production supervisors, operators, and workers.

Manpower planning, shift allocation, skill development, and performance evaluation.

Maintain discipline, attendance, and productivity on shop floor.

Cost Control & Waste Reduction

Monitor and control

raw material, ink, solvent, and power consumption

.

Reduce wastage, rejection, rework, and customer complaints.

Implement

Lean Manufacturing / 5S / TPM

practices.

Maintenance Coordination

Coordinate with maintenance team for preventive and breakdown maintenance.

Minimize machine downtime and ensure availability of critical spares.

Safety & Compliance

Ensure adherence to

factory safety norms, EHS standards, and statutory compliance

.

Implement SOPs, work instructions, and safety audits.

Reporting & MIS

Prepare daily production reports, wastage reports, efficiency dashboards, and review meetings.

Present performance data to management with improvement action plans.

Key Skills & Competencies

Strong knowledge of

flexible packaging printing & pouching processes

.

Expertise in

gravure/flexo printing, laminates, films, inks, adhesives

.

Leadership, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.

Knowledge of

production KPIs, OEE, cost control, and quality systems

.

Good communication and coordination skills.

Educational Qualification

B.E./B.Tech / Diploma

in Printing Technology, Mechanical, Production, or relevant field.

Experience

10-15 years

of experience in

flexible packaging industry

.

Minimum

5 years in a senior production leadership role

handling printing and pouching operations.
