Job Summary
The Senior Operations Manager is responsible for overseeing end-to-end CRGO lamination sheet operations, ensuring high productivity, consistent quality, minimal losses, and strict compliance with technical, safety, and customer standards. The role involves strategic operational control, process optimization, and leadership of large manufacturing teams.
Key ResponsibilitiesOperations & Production
Lead complete CRGO lamination sheet operations including slitting, cutting, shearing, stamping, and stacking
Ensure production targets are met with optimized material utilization and minimal scrap
Plan capacity utilization, shift planning, and manpower deployment
Drive productivity improvements and cycle time reduction
Quality & Process Control
Ensure adherence to CRGO grade specifications, customer drawings, and IEC/IS standards
Monitor and reduce burr height, edge damage, dimensional variations, and core losses
Implement SOPs, in-process inspections, and quality assurance systems
Lead root cause analysis and CAPA for rejections and customer complaints
Maintenance & Tooling
Oversee preventive and breakdown maintenance of slitters, shearing lines, presses, and tools
Ensure die/tool life optimization and machine calibration
Coordinate with vendors for spares, tooling, and technical upgrades
Safety & Compliance
Ensure compliance with EHS policies, electrical safety standards, and statutory requirements
Promote a zero-accident culture across operations
Cost & Financial Management
Prepare and control operational budgets
Optimize raw material consumption and reduce wastage and conversion costs
Drive cost-reduction and efficiency improvement initiatives
Leadership & Stakeholder Management
Lead, mentor, and develop production, quality, maintenance, and planning teams
Coordinate with procurement, supply chain, QA, R&D, and sales
Manage customer audits, technical discussions, and operational escalations
Key Skills & Competencies
Strong expertise in
CRGO lamination sheet manufacturing processes
Deep knowledge of electrical steel grades, transformer core requirements, and loss optimization
Proven leadership in precision manufacturing environments
Experience with Lean Manufacturing, TPM, Six Sigma, and continuous improvement
Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and decision-making skills
Excellent communication and cross-functional coordination abilities
Education
Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Electrical / Mechanical / Metallurgy preferred)
MBA or certifications in Operations, Lean, or Six Sigma preferred
