What you will do

Let's do this. Let's change the world. In this vital role, you will report to the Sr. Director of Consolidation in GCO Finance. The GCO Finance Senior Manager will lead a team of GCO Finance staff based in Amgen India responsible for financial planning, quarter close, consolidation, and ad-hoc projects. The candidate is also expected to expand the centralization, automation, and standardization of processes established within the GCO Finance team.
Roles & Responsibilities:

Lead a team of GCO Finance staff based in Amgen India and serve as the primary point of contact between Amgen India GCO Finance and the GCO Finance teams based in the United States.
Responsible for budget planning and management of Commercial spend, ensuring alignment with corporate financial guidelines and timelines.
Provide insightful financial analysis and commentary on commercial performance drivers, investment trade-offs, market trends, and risks/opportunities.
Provide GCO headcount planning support by maintaining relevant data and assisting in workforce planning.
Master Data Maintenance including but not limited to managing and updating financial master data across all systems to ensure accuracy and integrity, cost center creation, modification, and deactivation, aligning them with the organizational structure, creation of Work Breakdown Structures (WBS) for precise project tracking and financial reporting.
Provide support related to certain function-specific processes related to GCO partnerships, cost recoveries and capital expenditures.
Product Coding and Recovery Optimization: Optimize product coding processes and recovery methods to improve financial accuracy and efficiency.
Support strategic ad-hoc financial requests and special projects, providing accurate and timely feedback to stakeholders.
Drive standardization, automation, and continuous improvement of financial processes in collaboration with US and global counterparts.
Prioritize career development and mentoring of the Amgen India GCO Finance team.
Ensure team tasks are completed in a timely/accurate manner and communicated effectively with GCO Finance staff based in the United States.

Basic Qualifications:
Doctorate degree and 6 years of accounting and/or finance OR
Master's degree and 8 to 10 years of accounting and/or finance OR
Bachelor's degree and 10 to 14 years accounting and/or finance
Preferred Qualifications:
Pharmaceutical/biotechnology industry experience
Experience managing teams and operating in a multiple time-zone environment
Knowledge and understanding of financial planning processes, quarter-close activities and consolidation
Strong analytical skills; ability to be decisive, build teams, and provide leadership
Excellent discernment (e.g., knowledge of business drivers, finding solutions, and knowledge of accounting, finance, and other business areas)
Good-to-Have Skills:

Big 4 and Fortune 500 FP&A experience
Initiative-taker with excellent analytical and presentation skills
Capable of building and maintaining complex financial models
Solid overall knowledge of financial systems and tools (e.g., SAP, Hyperion, Anaplan, Excel, PowerPoint, PowerBI, Tableau)
Solid understanding of forecasting, long-range planning, budgeting, and business partnering
Proven ability to work effectively in ambiguous situations and team environment
