Home Health Coder responsible for ICD-10 coding of diagnoses and procedures, OASIS reviews, Plan of Care validation, and visit data abstraction for billing and compliance purposes.
Key Responsibilities
1. Accurately assign ICD-10-CM codes from clinical documentation and care plans.
2. Review OASIS assessments and Plans of Care for completeness, appropriateness, and regulatory compliance.
3. Query clinicians for unclear or insufficient documentation and document rationale for coding decisions.
4. Maintain daily productivity/turnaround targets and assist with staff training as needed.
Qualification
1. Education: Bachelor's degree in Life Sciences or equivalent (Nursing, Pharmacy, Biotechnology, Microbiology, Biochemistry, Physiotherapy, etc.).
2. Certification: BCHH-C (mandatory).
3. Experience: Minimum 2 years home health coding (required).
4. Skills: Strong knowledge of anatomy/physiology/medical terminology, computing, logical reasoning, and excellent communication.
5. Note: This role is for experienced home health coders only.
Salary/Compensation: Purely based on your experience and your performance in the Interview.
