Job Description

A Sr. (Senior) Mechanical Engineer is an experienced professional who leads engineering projects, designs complex mechanical systems and components, and provides technical leadership and mentoring to junior engineers. Key responsibilities include project lifecycle management, innovation, technical reviews, problem-solving, and ensuring projects meet cost, quality, and schedule goals. They often work with Computer-Aided Design (CAD) software to develop and test product designs. Key Responsibilities

Leadership and Mentoring:

Guides and mentors a team of engineers and technicians through the design process, from conceptualization to final product release.

Design and Development:

Creates detailed mechanical designs for systems and components, ensuring they are manufacturable and meet design principles.

Project Management:

Manages the full lifecycle of new product introduction projects, ensuring alignment with project objectives, costs, and timelines.

Innovation:

Develops innovative product ideas and testing methodologies to support future product generations.

Technical Expertise:

Leads design reviews, investigates root-cause failures, and implements design solutions to address complex problems.

Collaboration:

Works closely with other departments, such as applications engineers and product management, to define technical requirements and ensure product goals are met.

Testing and Verification:

Develops test plans to ensure products meet performance objectives and validates designs.
Typical Skills and Qualifications

Technical Skills:

Proficiency in Computer-Aided Design (CAD) software, analytical testing, and developing technical specifications.

Project Management Skills:

Ability to manage budgets, schedules, and resources for engineering projects.

Soft Skills:

Strong communication, interpersonal, and team-player skills to work effectively in cross-functional environments.

Experience:

A graduate mechanical engineer with substantial relevant experience in design, manufacturing, and product lifecycle management
