Position Overview: Integrated Materials Management personnel provide - expertise, advice, and direction for all project and enterprise materials-related work processes to ensure optimal overall organizational effectiveness among Engineering, Supply Chain, and Construction functions establish materials-related execution governance establish and implement the project Integrated Materials Management execution program participate in development and implementation of data integration processes monitor project execution of all materials-related work processes over the project life cycle and provide detailed materials coordination at jobsite locations between Construction and upstream Engineering and Supply Chain functions. General Responsibilities: Participate in development of early project execution strategy development as it relates to analysis of materials requirements, materials execution, fabrication and erection strategy, and material control planning. Participate in development of the initial master project schedule, detailed timing and sequence of materials-related activities as it relates to each functional group, and review and monitor progress of each group to confirm that materials meet required delivery sequence and dates.Review any schedule revisions for impacts and participate in the development of contingency planning. Develop the project Integrated Materials Management Program, and monitor its execution across Engineering, Supply Chain, and Construction. Coordinate the project plan for identifying major equipment and bulk materials with Engineering, along with information and data that will be exported from Engineering automation tools to downstream Supply Chain, Construction, and Project Control systems, and that Engineering data protocols are compatible with downstream data requirements. Formulate and deploy the project Pre-Buy strategy as required and monitor Engineering progress in the preparation and issuance of purchase requisitions. Monitor acquisition progress for items on the equipment list for completeness, progress, and that requisition issue dates support project detail schedules. Establish and facilitate coordination with commodity-specific functions in Engineering, Supply Chain, Construction, and Project Controls, ensuring adherence to execution plan and performance in the right sequence, and material availability in support of installation plans. Monitor data integration execution for consistency with plan and that exchange timing supports the project requirements. Prepare reports identifying productivity-impacted materials-related work processes to identify hidden or masked root issues. Prepare commodity-specific cross-functional reports communicating acquisition progress identifying issues requiring attention or escalation. Interface between Construction and Supply Chain to identify and acquire goods and establish delivery dates for material requirements resulting from design changes, rework, contingency/work arounds, scope changes. Monitor Supply Chain reports and activities to ensure that purchasing and expediting activities are executed effectively to maintain milestone schedule dates. Review plans at the jobsite for adequacy of material warehousing, preservation, control, and handling. At jobsite locations, provide detailed coordination with Field Engineering, acting as a liaison to upstream Engineering functions, design office Supply Chain functions, and suppliers and subcontractors, as necessary, to facilitate timely delivery of materials to support planned installation. Prepare look-ahead reports to Construction demonstrating timely materials delivery, or issues impacting planned execution. Supervision Received: Receives operational direction from: Project Management / Site Management for cross functional activities Supply Chain Manager for Design Office controlled Supply Chain activities.Field Supply Chain Manager for jobsite-controlled Supply Chain activities Receives functional direction from the Business Unit Manager of Integrated Materials Management or Corporate Manager of Integrated Materials Management Job Knowledge: Knowledge of supplier practices for fabricating and handling of complex bulk materials and equipment. Knowledge of the project material flow process and execution steps involved in the phases of advance planning, defining requirements, and sourcing, delivering and controlling goods. Knowledge of design Engineering disciplines work processes and deliverables produced, including the general functionality of the tools used to produce such deliverables and data. Knowledge of Supply Chain operations, disciplines, work processes from planning and acquisition of goods through aspects of material control at construction sites. Knowledge of Field Engineering and Construction practices and activities. Experience in major global, direct hire and contract management projects Experience with, or awareness of, enterprise materials management automation systems Qualifications: Bachelor of Science or post-graduate degree, in Supply Chain Management, Engineering, Industrial Engineering or related field is preferred. Minimum 10 years\' experience working in Supply Chain/Materials Management/Category Management/Engineering within a design office or working on a major project construction jobsite in the capacity of materials coordination.
