As a Cost Engineer - Gears, propeller shaft & Air suspension you are an expert in creating cost transparency by providing zero-based costing. During concept phase of project, your estimations will use for business decisions. Once the design gets mature and during awarding, you have to provide detailed costing for settle the parts and tools at best cost. Innovative thinking and outline levers for cost optimization and drive implementation during series phase to improved material cost efficiency.

VAVE idea generations are required to reduce the material cost of vehicle during series phase.



Roles and Responsibilities

Responsible for doing Reference Calculations for aggregates like Gears, propeller shaft & Air suspension parts for truck and buses Providing estimation to projects teams / finance controller for business case evaluation during the initial phase of project. Responsible for delivering on time support to Procurement with Reference Calculation Support Procurement in order to enable successful negotiation with the suppliers for Part and Tooling. Analyzing and reporting the exact cost gap between the REC and Supplier quote during the time of new part awarding. Estimation, Validation and negotiation of supplier development and testing cost. Responsible for Shared Service support like costing, benchmarking to Daimler Group companies globally. Responsible for evaluating the cost impact for Change Management Process Validating supplier RM and Process increase claim and support procurement to negotiate by providing measures Involvement in supplier evaluation and selection process Participation and generation of ideas during VAVE workshops. Responsible for Benchmarking Activity and competitor analysis for cost reduction activity. Responsible for monitoring and driving the Cost Reduction ideas within team until implementation. Supporting R&D team for design to target by analyzing the 3D/2D model and suggesting the right modelling during the initial design phase. Responsible for market research and RM movement tracking monthly. CFT member for RM / process actualization at supplier end. Monitor and update calculation input factors like RM rates, MHR rates every year for the respective aggregate and commodity in calculation data base Active participation and representing cost engineering various CFT
