Roles & Responsibilities:




The Senior Engineering Manager leads and scales high-performing engineering teams to design, build, and continuously improve technology solutions that power modern customer and associate experiences. This role combines technical expertise, strategic thinking, and strong people leadership to deliver enterprise-grade solutions aligned with business goals. The Senior Engineering Manager ensures teams follow engineering best practices, embraces innovation, and partners with cross-functional stakeholders to shape the technology roadmap and deliver measurable business outcomes.


Leads and develops engineering teams by setting a clear vision, managing performance, fostering an inclusive and collaborative culture, and coaching associates to achieve their full potential.

Owns the delivery of engineering services, including the design, development, deployment, and maintenance of solutions across multiple technology domains. Translates complex business requirements into scalable and resilient technical solutions. Drives engineering excellence through sound architectural decisions, code quality standards, and operational practices. Reviews designs and code, resolves critical defects, and ensures solutions meet performance, security, and compliance requirements. Champions modern delivery practices, leveraging DevOps, CI/CD pipelines, cloud platforms, observability tools, and automation to accelerate delivery, increase reliability, and reduce operational risk. Optimizes team execution, working with product management and scrum leaders to align priorities, balance capacity, reduce bottlenecks, and continuously improve velocity. Partners with stakeholders across business, product, design, and vendor teams to align roadmaps, gain support for initiatives, and ensure successful outcomes. Manages escalations and provides guidance on complex technical issues, architectural trade-offs, and long-term system health. Shapes technical strategy, including the adoption of microservices, API-first design, event-driven architectures, and data-centric decision making. Contributes to portfolio planning, forecasting, and resource allocation, ensuring effective delivery of multiple applications and services. Ensures adherence to company methodology, policies, and standards, while promoting innovation and continuous improvement within the engineering organization.

Required Qualifications:



8 years of IT experience in software engineering or related field 8 years of experience working on project(s) involving the implementation of software development life cycles (SDLC) 3 years of experience leading project or technical teams with or without formal direct report responsibility; this includes experience providing technical direction, thought leadership, and coaching and mentoring team members Bachelor's degree in computer science, computer information systems (CIS), or related field (or equivalent work experience in lieu of degree)

Skill Set Required



Experience managing multiple teams or organizations (10+ engineers) across diverse technology domains or product areas. Proven success in scaling engineering teams, including building org structures, defining career ladders, and driving culture. Background in large-scale customer-facing or retail/e-commerce systems, including performance, availability, and global operations. Experience with cloud ecosystems (AWS, Azure, GCP) and related cost optimization, reliability engineering, or governance practices. Track record of driving measurable business impact through technology delivery (e.g., revenue growth, customer adoption, operational efficiency). Exposure to data-driven decision making, including experience with analytics platforms, experimentation (A/B testing), or ML/AI-driven features. Advanced degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or Business (nice to have but not exclusionary).
