Role Overview
The Senior Manager - PPC will lead the end-to-end production planning, scheduling, and inventory control function to ensure optimal utilization of resources, on-time delivery, cost optimization, and alignment with organizational goals. The role requires strong analytical skills, manufacturing process knowledge, cross-functional coordination, and expertise in advanced planning systems.
Key Responsibilities
1. Production Planning & Scheduling
Lead the development of monthly, weekly, and daily production plans based on sales forecasts, capacity, and inventory levels.
Optimize machine loading, manpower allocation, and shift planning to achieve maximum output and minimum downtime.
Ensure feasibility of plans by evaluating material availability, equipment capability, and process constraints.
2. Capacity & Resource Management
Conduct capacity analysis and determine shortfalls; propose resource augmentation where required.
Drive initiatives to improve capacity utilization and reduce bottlenecks.
Coordinate with Maintenance, Quality, and Operations to ensure machine readiness.
3. Inventory Management
Develop and maintain optimal inventory levels (RM, WIP, FG).
Minimize excess and obsolete stock through effective planning and periodic reviews.
4. Coordination & Cross-Functional Leadership
Work closely with Procurement for material planning and timely procurement.
Collaborate with Sales/Marketing teams for demand planning and forecasting.
Coordinate with Production, Quality, Maintenance, and Logistics teams for plan adherence and timely dispatches.
5. Monitoring & Reporting
Track production KPIs: plan adherence, cycle time, OEE, capacity utilization, OTIF, inventory turns, etc.
Prepare periodic MIS reports for senior leadership.
Drive root-cause analysis for delays, shortages, and deviations from plan.
6. Systems, Processes & Continuous Improvement
Lead implementation/optimization of ERP/MRP systems (SAP/Oracle/Infor/etc.).
Promote lean manufacturing, 5S, Kaizen, and waste-reduction initiatives.
Standardize planning processes and drive digitalization/automation of PPC operations.
7. Team Leadership
Manage and mentor PPC planners, analysts, and schedulers.
Develop training programs to enhance team capability in planning tools and analytical methods.
Foster a culture of accuracy, accountability, and continuous improvement.
REQUIRED:
Strong knowledge of production planning, forecasting, and material management.
Expertise in ERP/MRP systems (SAP PP/MM, Oracle, MS Dynamics, etc.).
Understanding of lean manufacturing, value stream mapping, and capacity planning tools.
Advanced Excel, data analysis, and planning software proficiency
