Key Responsibilities
1. Recruitment & Talent Acquisition
Collaborate with academic departments and administrative units to understand staffing needs and prepare job descriptions.
Source candidates via job portals, social media, referrals, and networking.
Screen applications, conduct initial interviews, and coordinate further interview rounds.
Facilitate the offer process, negotiate salary and benefits, and manage employment contracts.
2. Onboarding & Induction
Manage the onboarding process for new staff, including orientation and induction sessions.
Maintain and update employee records (electronic and hard copy).
Set up help desks or support for new joiners to resolve HR-related queries.
3. HR Administration & Documentation
Maintain and update the HR policy manual, SOPs, employment agreements, and other HR documentation.
Ensure compliance with labor laws, university regulations, and statutory requirements.
Handle leaves, attendance, and other employee records.
4. Employee Relations & Engagement
Serve as a point of contact for employee concerns and grievances; facilitate resolution.
Coordinate internal events, training programs, and engagement activities across departments.
Contribute to HR initiatives aimed at improving employee satisfaction and retention.
5. Performance Management
Support the performance appraisal process (setting up review meetings, tracking feedback, and documentation).
Assist in designing or updating performance management systems, in collaboration with department heads.
6. Compliance & HR Reporting
Monitor and ensure compliance with statutory regulations (e.g., labor laws, university policies).
Prepare regular HR reports and dashboards (hiring metrics, attrition, headcount) for senior management.
Participate in policy review and propose improvements to HR processes as needed.
7. HR Systems & Tools
Use HR software / HRIS for maintaining employee data, recruitment tracking, performance, etc.
Help in implementing or upgrading HR processes / digital tools to improve efficiency.
Education:
Bachelor's degree in Human Resource Management, Business Administration, or related field.
(Preferred) Master's degree or MBA (HR).
Experience:
2 plus years of experience in HR, preferably in an educational institution or a similar corporate setup.
Familiarity with recruitment, on boarding, and HR operations.
