Job Summary:

We are seeking an experienced and results-driven

Senior Manager - Export (Air & Ocean)

to lead and manage our export operations. The role involves overseeing end-to-end export activities across air and ocean freight, ensuring compliance with international trade regulations, enhancing operational efficiency, driving business growth, and leading a high-performing team. The ideal candidate should have a strong background in freight forwarding, export documentation, customs regulations, and client relationship management.

Key Responsibilities:

Operational Management

Manage and oversee day-to-day

Air and Ocean Export operations

. Ensure timely booking, shipment planning, and coordination with airlines, shipping lines, CFS/ICD, CHA, and transporters. Oversee accurate preparation and verification of

export documentation

(SI, HBL/MBL, Invoice, Packing List, Form 13, VGM, LEO, etc.). Monitor cargo movement, resolve escalations, and ensure smooth execution of shipments.

Regulatory & Compliance

Ensure compliance with

customs regulations, DGFT guidelines, ICEGATE/CHA processes, and international trade laws

. Monitor and update changes in export documentation requirements, HSN codes, IEC, port codes, and licensing. Implement and enforce company policies on compliance, safety, and security.

Team Leadership

Lead, mentor, and motivate a team of export professionals. Allocate responsibilities, monitor performance, and ensure training & skill development. Foster collaboration between operations, sales, and customer service teams.

Customer & Stakeholder Management

Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, shipping lines, airlines, and CHAs. Handle customer queries, provide end-to-end visibility, and ensure service excellence. Negotiate with service providers for competitive freight rates and best service quality.

Business & Financials

Drive process efficiency and cost optimization in export operations. Ensure profitability through effective vendor negotiation and operational planning. Support the sales/business development team with operational insights and client proposals. Analyze operational data and present MIS reports to senior management.

Key Skills & Competencies:

Strong knowledge of

Air & Ocean Export operations

in freight forwarding/logistics. Expertise in

export documentation, customs clearance, and shipping line/airline coordination

. In-depth understanding of

INCOTERMS, EXIM policy, ICEGATE, DGFT, and global trade compliance

. Leadership skills with proven ability to manage teams and stakeholders. Problem-solving, negotiation, and decision-making skills. Excellent communication and client relationship management. Proficiency in MS Office, Excel, and logistics software/ERP.

Qualifications & Experience:

Graduate/Postgraduate in International Business, Supply Chain, or related field. Minimum

10-15 years of experience

in Export Operations (Air & Ocean), preferably in

freight forwarding / logistics industry

. Proven track record of handling large export volumes and leading export operations teams.
