The Appliance Solutions (AS) organization is changing the backup and recovery game for customers--built on industry-leading backup software, our appliances address the technical complexities of modern data protection and optimized secondary storage for companies of all sizes. Appliance Solutions Engineering is currently looking for a motivated engineering manager who not only "do" but also lead a change and make a difference. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing Flex engineering team in Pune. The ideal candidate will possess good inter-personal skills and be able to lead and motivate a team in an agile environment without micro-managing them.

Responsibilities:

• Develop, hire, mentor and grow engineering talent capable of delivering new features, help support/customer focus team to resolve critical issues
• Work with Development and QA Engineering, Product Management and Technical Leads to prioritize and coordinate the team's efforts within an agile development environment
• Provide technical guidance & career development to team members
• Perform all people management functions like performance management, career planning and apply the right standards for rewards and recognition
• Communicate cross-functionally and drive engineering efforts

Qualifications and Experience:

• Bachelors/Master's degree (BE/BTech/BS or ME/MTech/MS) in Computer Science or equivalent
• Overall 10+ years of relevant industry experience.
• Direct people management experience, and previous experience of leading product engineering teams of at least 10 people and management thereof
• Outstanding problem solving and organizational skills
• Demonstrated ability to effectively balance conflicting priorities and views to align teams with business objectives
• Demonstrated ability to engage cross-team collaboration to resolve challenging problems
• Excellent communication skills, both oral and written
• Experience working with geographically distributed engineering teams a plus
• Strong Team-building skills with both technical and non-technical staff
• Self-motivated, decisive, with the ability to adapt to change and competing demand
• Excellent inter-personal, communication skills, and experience in managing brought up customer situation and customers.

Skills and Technology:

• Knowledge of container, virtualization technologies, Linux based distributed system, Rest APIs
• Data management, backup/storage domain
• C/C++/GoLang, Scripting (Ansible, Python)
• QA Automation & Processes, Agile Software Development
