Senior Manager / Assistant General Manager @ Contract Management (Tender/Contract/Commercial) is a senior leadership role responsible for overseeing the complete lifecycle of contracts and tendering processes for coal logistics and transportation services. The role ensures strategic pricing, cost control, risk assessment, legal compliance, and smooth execution of high-value transportation contracts, contributing directly to the company's profitability and sustainability. Key Responsibilities
Strategic Tender Management Pvt. Sector Clients

Lead the analysis of high-value tenders from government and private sector clients (e.g., Coal India, SECL, NTPC).
Guide the preparation of competitive bid documents, ensuring accuracy in cost estimations.
Evaluate commercial terms, risk profiles, and profitability before bid submission.
Lead the bid evaluation and pricing strategy meetings with senior stakeholders.
Contract Management
Review and negotiate contracts with clients and subcontractors for transportation and logistics services.
Monitor compliance with terms and conditions, penalties, insurance, and statutory norms.
Ensure timely renewals, amendments, and dispute resolutions in coordination with legal and finance teams.
Oversee document control, version management, and contract closeout processes.?
Costing & Commercial Strategy
Drive detailed costing models for long-term and short-term contracts, focusing on fleet utilization, manpower planning, maintenance, and taxation.
Regularly benchmark costs with industry standards to optimize margins.
Develop pricing strategies aligned with market dynamics, inflation, and operational efficiencies.
Identify and implement cost-saving initiatives without compromising service quality.?
Compliance & Risk Management
Ensure all tenders and contracts comply with legal and operational regulations.
Proactively assess risks (legal, financial, operational) in contracts and propose mitigation strategies.?
Leadership & Stakeholder Coordination
Lead and mentor a team of Executives and Managers (Tender, Contract & Correspondence).
Maintain relationships with key clients, vendors, and regulatory authorities.
Present reports, bid summaries, cost analyses, and risk assessments to senior management and board-level committees.?
Qualifications & Experience
MBA/PGDM in Operations, Supply Chain, or Finance preferred.
10-15 years of experience in contract management and tender costing, commercial role with at least 5 years in a leadership role in coal transportation or power industry.?
Key Skills & Competencies
Deep understanding of logistics & transport (especially coal/rail/road).
Expertise in tendering processes on platforms like GeM e-portals.
Strong commercial and legal acumen with contract negotiation experience.
Proficient in cost modelling, MIS reporting, and financial impact analysis.
Leadership, problem-solving, and stakeholder management skills.
Advanced MS Excel and PowerPoint, MS Office.
