In this role as the Monitoring Tools Engineer, you will be responsible for the overall monitoring and availability of critical applications for Silicon Valley Bank. Skills and requirements: # Be part of the team that is responsible for the design, support, and maintenance of the enterprise monitoring solution. # Identify and create methods for solving complex monitoring solutions to drive availability of critical applications. # You are expected to provide monitoring, alerting, an d reporting capabilities to the operation center and ensure your physical and virtual server-based application achieve peak performance. # You will provide continuous suggestions for improved alert configurations and operational processes in relatio n to monitoring. # Your solutions need to help develop strategy to discover the enterprise applications that reside in the data center and deliver the visibility you need into application performance and the underlying operating systems and servers t hey run on. # Lead AIOPs journey and provide industry subject matter expertise The ideal candidate will have experience and qualifications for planning and managing operations infrastructure, including: # Aptitude for analyzing and troubleshooting o perating system, networking, configuration, and performance problems. # Basic understanding of Monitoring Engineering best practices. # Experience executing system deployments (AWS, private cloud). # Experience automating system administration task s with scripting tools (Python or shell preferred). # Fundamental understanding of Internet networking protocols: TCP IP, TLS, DNS, HTTP, SMTP. # Experience with monitoring and automation tools such as Ansible, Splunk, App-D, Zabbix, LogicMonitor, Moogsoft, etc. # Ability to communicate clearly with both technical and non-technical staff.
