1. Role Purpose
The Sr. HR Manager will oversee and strengthen HR operations across multiple schools, junior colleges and degree colleges within the organization. The role is responsible for ensuring effective workforce management, employee lifecycle processes, statutory compliance, and providing leadership to the HR team across campuses. The role requires strong HR domain knowledge, people management capability, and an understanding of HR practices in the education sector.
2. Key Responsibilities
A. Recruitment & Onboarding
Lead end-to-end recruitment for academic, administrative, technical, and support staff across campuses.
Coordinate with principals, HODs, and management to understand hiring needs.
Oversee screening, shortlisting, interviews, reference checks, and offer issuance.
Ensure smooth onboarding, induction, and orientation for new staff.
B. Attendance, Leave & Payroll Management
Supervise biometric attendance integration and daily exceptions.
Validate monthly attendance for payroll processing.
Coordinate with Accounts for timely and accurate salary disbursement.
Manage leave administration and resolve discrepancies.
C. Employee Relations & Grievance Handling
Serve as the escalation point for staff grievances across campuses.
Facilitate conflict resolution between employees, departments, and schools.
Conduct disciplinary procedures, investigations, and documentation where required.
D. Performance Management
Monitor performance appraisal cycles and ensure timely completion.
Support principals and department heads in performance evaluations.
Identify high-potential staff and recommend development initiatives.
E. Talent Retention and Engagement
Develop retention strategies for academic and non-academic staff.
Plan employee engagement activities, recognition programs, and welfare initiatives.
Conduct exit interviews, analyse attrition trends, and recommend improvements.
F. Statutory Compliance & Legal
Ensure compliance with all HR-related statutory obligations:
PF, ESI, PT etc.
Liaise with legal consultants for employment issues and represent HR in legal matters.
Maintain accurate documentation and records for audits.
G. HR Operations & Team Leadership
Supervise HR staff at the corporate office and coordinate with campus representatives.
Standardize HR policies, procedures, SOPs, and documentation across campuses.
Prepare MIS, HR dashboards, and periodic HR reports for management.
Facilitate training programs and HR capacity building.
3. Qualifications & Experience
Bachelor's degree; Master's in HR / MBA HR preferred.
6-12 years of HR experience, with at least
3+ years in a supervisory or managerial capacity
.
Experience in multi-branch setups (schools/educational institutions preferred).
Strong knowledge of HR operations, statutory compliance, and employee relations.
