Job Summary

We are looking for an experienced

Senior Firefighting Design Engineer

to lead the design, engineering, and coordination of fire protection systems for residential, commercial, and infrastructure projects. The role requires strong technical knowledge of Indian and international fire codes, coordination with authorities, and support through design to execution stages.

Key Responsibilities

Firefighting System Design

Design and develop fire protection systems including

hydrant & sprinkler systems, fire pumps, wet risers, hose reels, and fire suppression systems

. Prepare

fire protection layouts, schematics, riser diagrams, and system calculations

. Perform hydraulic calculations for sprinkler and hydrant systems.

Codes & Authority Compliance

Ensure compliance with

NBC 2016, NFPA standards, local fire authority norms, and client specifications

. Coordinate with

Chief Fire Officer (CFO) / Fire Department

for approvals and NOCs. Review and respond to fire authority comments and design revisions.

Coordination & Project Support

Coordinate with architects, structural engineers, and other MEP disciplines. Participate in design coordination meetings and resolve site-related issues. Support construction teams with

shop drawings, RFIs, and site queries

. Review contractor submittals, material specifications, and method statements.

Documentation & Quality

Prepare

BOQs, technical specifications, and tender drawings

. Conduct design reviews and propose value engineering solutions. Maintain design quality, documentation control, and timely deliverables.

Leadership & Mentoring

Guide junior engineers and CAD/BIM team members. Review drawings and calculations prepared by team members.
Required Qualifications & Skills

Bachelor's degree

in Mechanical Engineering (or relevant discipline).

7-8 years

of experience in fire protection system design. Strong working knowledge of

NBC 2016, NFPA (13, 14, 20, 24, 72)

and local Mumbai fire norms. Proficiency in

AutoCAD

; exposure to

Revit / BIM

is an added advantage. Experience in handling

fire authority approvals in Mumbai

. Good coordination, communication, and problem-solving skills.
Preferred / Added Advantages

Experience in high-rise residential and commercial projects. Exposure to

performance-based fire design

. Familiarity with

GCC or international fire codes

. Knowledge of

BIM-based firefighting coordination

.
