: Sr. Executive - Purchase & Stores
Location: Dehgam Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Engineering / Supply Chain / Commerce OR equivalent.
Qualification:
Experience: 5 to 6 years of relevant experience in plant purchase and stores function in a manufacturing environment.
Role Summary :
To manage plant-level purchase and stores operations effectively by ensuring timely procurement, proper inventory control, accurate documentation, and smooth inward-outward material movement, in line with company policies and plant requirements.
Key Responsibilities :
Purchase & Procurement

  • Carry out plant-level general purchases such as stationery, furniture, electrical items, electronic gadgets, office and plant utility items.
  • Handle plant-related and maintenance-related purchases, including spare parts, tools, consumables, equipment, and machinery.
  • Coordinate purchase of plant equipment and machinery in consultation with Purchase Head and Plant Head.
  • Obtain quotations, prepare comparative statements, and process Purchase Requisitions (PR) and Purchase Orders (PO) as per company procedure.
  • Follow up with vendors for timely delivery, documentation, and compliance with agreed terms.
  • Maintain approved vendor list and purchase records.
Stores Operations
  • Manage stores inward and outward movement of materials.
  • Ensure proper documentation including GRN, issue slips, return notes, and gate passes.
  • Maintain accurate records of receipt, issue, and balance of materials.
  • Ensure proper storage, identification, and FIFO practices for all materials.
  • Coordinate with Production, Maintenance, and other departments for timely issue of materials.
Inventory Control
  • Maintain optimum inventory levels to avoid shortages or excess stock.
  • Conduct periodic physical stock verification and reconcile variances.
  • Ensure physical stock matches system records.
  • Identify slow-moving and non-moving items and report to management.
Equipment, AMC & Service Records
  • Maintain records of newly purchased equipment and machinery, including installation, warranty, and service details.
  • Track AMC and service contract renewals for plant equipment.
  • Coordinate timely servicing and maintain complete documentation.
Documentation, ERP & Compliance
  • Update and maintain purchase and stores records in ERP / SAP / Excel as applicable.
  • Maintain vendor master, purchase history, and inventory reports.
  • Support internal and external audits related to purchase and stores.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, procedures, and internal controls.
Coordination & Reporting
  • Coordinate with Purchase Head, Plant Head, Finance, Maintenance, and Production teams.
  • Provide regular updates on purchase status, stock levels, and critical materials.
  • Support cost control initiatives and process improvements at plant level.
Skills & Competencies
  • Knowledge of plant purchase and stores operations
  • Understanding of inventory control and documentation
  • Working knowledge of ERP / SAP systems
  • Vendor coordination and follow-up skills
  • Good record-keeping and organizational ability
  • Ability to work independently at plant level
