To ensure efficient management, allocation, maintenance, and utilization of shipping equipment (e.g., containers, reefers) while coordinating with internal and external stakeholders to support smooth cargo operations and vessel turnaround.
Key Responsibilities:
Manage inventory, availability, and allocation of containers and other shipping equipment.
Monitor movement of equipment between ports, depots, customers, and terminals.
Coordinate with shipping lines, vendors, terminals, transporters, and depots.
Ensure timely maintenance, repair, and inspection of equipment as per industry standards (IICL / ISO).
Minimize equipment idle time, detention, and demurrage through effective planning.
Prepare and maintain reports on equipment utilization, damage, and cost control.
Ensure compliance with safety, regulatory, and environmental requirements.
Support implementation of digital tracking and equipment management systems.
Handle vendor management related to equipment leasing, repairs, and transport.
Assist in budgeting, procurement, and cost control of equipment-related activities.
Key Skills & Competencies:
Strong understanding of container equipment types and specifications.
Knowledge of shipping/logistics operations and container depot processes.
Familiarity with equipment tracking systems tools.
Excellent coordination and communication skills.
Analytical mindset with strong problem-solving ability.
Proficient in MS Excel and reporting tools.
