Job Description

Health & Safety Management:

Implement and monitor safety procedures, PPE protocols, and permit-to-work systems (PTW).

Conduct risk assessments (JSA/HAZOP) for plant operations and recommend controls.

Lead incident investigations (near misses, LTI, fire, chemical spills) and drive CAPA implementation.

Ensure compliance with GMP/EHS standards in production, utilities, R&D, and warehousing areas.

Environmental Compliance:

Monitor effluent treatment (ETP/STP), waste disposal (hazardous & non-hazardous), and air/water emissions.

Ensure compliance with pollution control board (MPCB) norms and prepare environmental reports.

Coordinate with external agencies for audits, approvals, and consents.

Regulatory & Legal Compliance:

Maintain documentation for compliance with Factories Act, Environment Act, OSHA, NDMA, MoEF, etc.

Prepare documentation for regulatory audits - USFDA, WHO, MHRA, ISO, etc.

Conduct mock drills, emergency response planning, and fire safety training.

Training & Awareness:

Conduct HSE induction, tool-box talks, and periodic safety training for employees and contractors.

Promote employee awareness programs like safety week, EHS posters, contests, etc.

EHS in Projects & Engineering:

Provide EHS input during new equipment installation, expansion projects, or change control.

Ensure HAZOP and safety review during project design and commissioning phases.
