Sales and Business Development:
Generate leads through various channels such as networking, referrals, and industry events. Identify potential clients and opportunities for expanding the customer base.
Build and nurture relationships with prospective customers to convert leads into clients.
Conduct daily sales calls to potential clients, addressing their shipping and logistics needs. Oversee client relationships for satisfaction and repeat business.
Facilitate the on boarding process for new customers, ensuring a smooth transition.
Stay informed about market trends and competitive intelligence in both the air and ocean freight sectors to identify growth opportunities and challenges.
Act as the primary point of contact for customer inquiries related to ocean, air, import, and export shipments.
Convert customer inquiries and leads into confirmed orders, ensuring accuracy and completeness of customer requirements
Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with clients to foster trust and customer loyalty.
Continuously engage with customers throughout the shipment process, providing updates and addressing inquiries.
Rate Management and Quotation:
Collaborate with the pricing team to check and confirm rates for various shipping methods (ocean, air) and import/export services.
Verify carrier rates and service options to ensure competitiveness and alignment with customer requirements.
Support the pricing team in providing accurate and competitive rate quotations to customers.
Assist in rate negotiations with agents/vendors and presenting price quotes to clients to secure mutually beneficial pricing agreements.
Participate in the development and implementation of rate strategies that align with market trends and company pricing policies.
Analyze and optimize pricing to maximize revenue while remaining competitive.
Determine competitive buy and sell rates, considering customer preferences and company profitability.
Order Execution and Financial Management:
Ensure strict adherence to Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for each shipment, maintaining consistency and compliance.
Monitor the progress of each shipment and proactively address any operational issues.
Track invoices and payment status, ensuring timely and accurate payment collection.
Act as a point of contact to resolve any issues related to shipments, customer concerns, and operational challenges.
Prepare and share regular performance reports and metrics with customers and senior management.
Collaborate effectively with internal departments across all trade lanes to ensure seamless execution of shipments.
Self-Development and Team Leadership:
Foster a culture of continuous learning and self-development within the team.
Lead by example in staying updated with industry and functional trends through learning, training, and certifications.
