Role Overview:
As a
Sr Engineer
, you will play a critical role as part of a
global team
responsible for supporting and enhancing the Workforce Management (WFM) platform and its ecosystem. This position involves maintaining the current WFM platform (UKG Workforce Central - WFC) while leading the implementation of the UKG Pro WFM platform.
You will collaborate with key stakeholders to drive design decisions and lead the development of robust integration patterns and solutions. These efforts aim to enable the business through foundational
WFM capabilities
in key areas such as
timekeeping, scheduling, forecasting, and compliance

Key responsibilities include:
Designing, developing, and implementing integration patterns that ensure scalability and performance.
Supporting enterprise-wide timekeeping and scheduling needs, enabling forecasting insights, and ensuring compliance with workforce policies.
Leveraging open-source technologies to make sound engineering decisions aligned with
enterprise architecture principles and guidelines

About You
4-year degree or equivalent experience.
4+ years of software development experience, including at least one full-cycle implementation.
Strong domain-specific knowledge of Target's technology capabilities and key competitors' products and differentiating features.
Broad and deep expertise in multiple computer languages and frameworks (e.g., open source). Designs, develops, and approves end-to-end functionality of a product line, platform, or infrastructure.
Excellent communication skills with business partners and other engineering teams.
Expertise in analysing and optimizing systems for capacity, performance, and operational health.
Experience in building applications using technologies like
Java
or Kotlin, ensuring performance and reliability.
Proficiency in
building user interfaces
using modern frameworks (e.g.,
React
or Next.js, or Vue.js).
Experience with
microservices architecture

NoSQL databases
, and
event-driven architecture.
Familiarity with building highly scalable distributed systems.
Maintains deep technical knowledge within areas of expertise.
