About the Role
The Senior Software Engineer designs and builds scalable, cloud-native software solutions to address business and technical needs. Working with a team, the engineer develops, deploys, and maintains full-stack systemsfrom front-end frameworks to back-end services, microservices, databases, and related cloud infrastructure. Responsibilities include end-to-end solution delivery, architectural contributions, mentoring junior engineers, and ensuring alignment with T-Mobile's business and technical objectives.

What Youll Bring

• A bachelors degree in computer science, Software Engineering, or a related discipline.
• 58 years of practical experience in software development and system architecture.
• Demonstrated ability to deliver scalable, reliable, and secure solutions within cloud environments.
• Advanced proficiency in at least one contemporary programming language (such as Java, Python, Go, or JavaScript).
• Solid understanding of distributed systems, container technologies, and microservices architectures.
• Hands-on experience with CI/CD pipelines, automated testing methodologies, and agile development practices.
• Strong analytical skills coupled with a collaborative approach to problem solving.
• Exceptional communication and technical documentation capabilities.

Must-Have Skills:

• Java & Spring Ecosystem: Deep expertise in Java (8/11/17) with hands-on experience in Spring Boot, Spring MVC, Spring Data, and Spring Security for building scalable RESTful APIs and microservices.
• Databases & Search Technologies: Proficient in MySQL (schema design, query optimization, performance tuning) and OpenSearch/Elasticsearch for full-text search and analytics.
• Cloud & Infrastructure (AWS): Strong practical experience with AWS services including EC2, Lambda, S3, RDS, CloudWatch, SQS/SNS, Event Bridge, EventBus, Batch, and API Gateway, along with knowledge of networking, monitoring, and security best practices.
• DevOps & CI/CD: Skilled in Git-based workflows, automated builds and deployments using Jenkins, GitLab CI/CD, or AWS CodePipeline, and familiarity with Docker or Kubernetes.
• Testing & Performance: Proficient in JUnit, Mockito, Postman and integration testing; experienced in performance tuning, caching (e.g., Redis), and troubleshooting production issues in distributed systems.

Nice To Have:

• Experience supporting or managing security, risk, or compliance platforms that aggregate application and infrastructure vulnerabilities, security violations, or risk insights.
• Familiarity with DevSecOps practices and tools such as Wiz, Tenable, or Sentinel One, or any CNAPP platform and an understanding of how security data integrates into development and remediation workflows.
• Understanding of security governance, vulnerability lifecycle management, and incident response processes in large-scale enterprise environments.
• Experience with building web applications using React/Angular
• Experience with Containerization and Orchestration Docker, Kubernetes.
• Knowledge of API Gateway, OAuth2, and JWT for secure service communication.
• Familiarity with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) Terraform.
• Exposure to Event-Driven Architectures using Kafka or AWS Kinesis.
• Understanding of NoSQL databases (e.g., DynamoDB, MongoDB) is a plus.
• Experience with logging and monitoring frameworks (ELK stack, Prometheus, Grafana).
• Experience leveraging Generative AI tools such as GitHub Copilot, ChatGPT, or Amazon CodeWhisperer to enhance productivity through code generation, documentation, testing, and debugging assistance. Demonstrated ability to integrate AI-assisted workflows into daily development practices to accelerate delivery and improve code quality.
