Position Overview A Senior Engineer for software will be responsible for development of products and providing creative solutions associated with the design, development, and sustaining engineering for our new and existing software product portfolio. The successful candidate will possess solid hands-on technical abilities, an excitement and energy for product development, and a passion for their work and the impact it has on meeting the needs of patients. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Responsible for the design of a module/project, makes design choices for new product development, sustenance activities, field issue resolution etc. Responsible for analyzing and understanding the system requirements and deriving software requirements. Identifies key module/product level technical risks and assists project manager in developing mitigation and recovery plan. Actively supports in planning activities by providing WBS, level effort, skill set needed to execute the project. Review work products and ensure the quality of deliverables Provides input to the test strategies at a product level Provides guidance to development and test teams with respect to overall design and development. Demonstrate the ability work with team members. Applies principles of SDLC and methodologies like Lean/Agile/XP, CI, Software and Product Security, Scalability, Documentation Practices, refactoring and testing techniques. Participates in continuous improvement activities by identifying and appropriately escalating process and product quality gaps. Qualifications / Experience and/or Background Excellent software design and implementation skills. Hands on experience in applying SOLID design principles. Strong Object-Oriented development and design knowledge and experience. Hands on experience on building custom Linux distribution using Yocto project for any hardware specification. Hands on experience in setting up build systems, shell scripting, make/c-make, kernel configuration, debugging in Linux, driver configuration etc. Good understanding of NXP i.MX and ST architecture, security architecture. Hands on experience in Qt/QML design and development. Broad understanding of technology & software development principles: Analysis and Design: Object oriented architecture, Design Patterns Programming: C, C++, Python etc Development and Continuous Integration: Visual Studio/Eclipse, SVN, Git, Gerrit, Jenkins, BitBucket, Jira etc. OS: Embedded Linux, VxWorks etc. Experience in working in project teams, involving SW architects, SW engineers. Demonstrated success in delivering results on technical challenges. Experience in Healthcare domain is a plus with awareness of IEC 62304, Safety and Security standards.
