Sr. Engineer Quality Assurance

Year    MH, IN, India

Job Description

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced

Senior Quality Assurance Engineer

to lead our quality management initiatives and drive continuous improvement within our manufacturing operations. This role is crucial for maintaining our high standards, ensuring customer satisfaction, and transitioning our organization to the IATF 16949 Quality Management System. If you have a passion for quality excellence, strong leadership skills, and expertise in core quality tools (CAPA, FMEA, RCA), we encourage you to apply.

Key Responsibilities

Strategic QMS Leadership:

Lead a cross-functional team in the comprehensive implementation, standardization, and maintenance of the IATF 16949 Quality Management System. This includes managing all QMS documentation, overseeing rigorous internal and external audits, ensuring compliance across all departments, and continuously seeking opportunities to mature our quality processes in alignment with global best practices.

Team Management:

Manage and mentor a dedicated team of Quality Control Engineers and Inspectors. This responsibility extends to setting clear performance metrics, optimizing workflows, providing coaching and professional development opportunities, and fostering a collaborative environment where proactive problem-solving is the standard. You will ensure operational efficiency and the highest standards of inspection adherence.

Performance Monitoring:

Conduct weekly, monthly, and yearly monitoring and deep-dive trend analysis of critical Quality Indices (PPM, Percentage Rejection, Yield rates, Customer Satisfaction scores, and Cost of Poor Quality (COPQ)). The goal is to translate this complex data into actionable, strategic insights for the management team to forecast and prevent future quality issues, ensuring sustained performance improvement.

Customer & Defect Analysis:

Serve as a primary point of contact for customer interactions related to defect analysis and prevention. This includes managing formal complaint processes, such as 8D reporting, conducting in-depth root cause investigations (RCA), and collaborating directly with customer quality teams to implement robust, closed-loop corrective actions that build trust and long-term partnerships.

Process Improvement & Training:

Collaborate actively with production teams to significantly reduce internal and external rejection rates and promote a site-wide quality culture. You will provide essential, hands-on training to personnel on core methodologies such as CAPA, RCA, QMS, 5S, and Safety protocols.

New Product Introduction (NPD):

Assist and oversee production teams during the rollout of new products and processes (NPD/APQP). Your involvement will ensure that processes are stabilized, control plans are validated, and quality is streamlined before production batches are moved to full-scale launch.

System Enhancement:

Provide critical quality assurance support during the rollout of a new ERP system to ensure data accuracy, enhance real-time reporting capabilities, and integrate comprehensive quality metrics (like traceability and scrap reporting) effectively across all modules.

Documentation & Compliance

: Ensure immaculate maintenance and control of all documentation related to corrective and preventive actions (CAPA), root cause analysis (RCA), and failure mode and effects analysis (FMEA).

Qualifications and Experience

Education: Diploma in Mechanical Engineering (DME) or Bachelor of Engineering (B.E.) in Mechanical Engineering or Printing Technology. Experience: A minimum of 6 to 7 years of progressive experience in a Quality Assurance or Quality Control role, preferably within a manufacturing environment. Technical Proficiency: Demonstrated expertise and practical working knowledge of IATF 16949 standards. Quality Tools Mastery: Proven ability to apply and document core quality methodologies including CAPA, RCA, and FMEA. Leadership: A proactive, "leading from the front" attitude and strong team-player mindset.

Preferred Experience

Direct prior experience working in the Printing Industry (specifically high-precision or industrial printing) is highly advantageous.

Salary Range
