SDN concepts are merging the boundaries of control plane and management plane functions and expectedly, software is playing an ever-increasing role in controlling and managing these networks. The software ecosystem managing Lyve Cloud network needs to be intelligent, scalable and fault tolerant. Our vision is to ultimately have self-managed networks.
We are looking for a Network Operations Engineers for Lyve Cloud Network Operations team who will be responsible for building, and operating the global edge, backbone and datacenter network to meet the requirements of high availability, scalability, and high-performance. By joining this team, you will gain marketable network operation experiences in edge, backbone and data center networking at massive scale.

About the role - you will:

  • Deploy, Build, operate and optimize Lyve Cloud's global network, including edge, backbone, data center, and public cloud connectivity
  • Act as primary liaison to third party vendors, both managed service providers and fiber providers, managing the operations/deployment relationship and driving performance
  • Perform deep dives on complex technical issues across networks, ranging from automated tooling to hardware failures and network issues
  • Anticipate potential operational risks and develop strategies to mitigate/minimize
  • Maintain deployment status reporting and provide frequent deployment updates
  • Build cross-functional relationships with Network Engineering, Systems Engineering, Traffic, Logistics, Program Management, and OEM partners to deliver superb operational results and manage the performance of external vendors
  • Participate in on-call rotations with the global operations team
About you:

Your experience includes:
  • Experience in critical infrastructure operations and/or engineering, and at least one of the following networking domains: IP/ Edge networking or network operations
  • Experience working within a global team and collaborating with cross-functional teams in a fast-paced and dynamic environment with limited supervision
  • Experience with TCP/IP fundamentals and routing protocols (e.g., EIGRP, OSPF, BGP, IS-IS, or MPLS)
  • Experience in network protocol function and troubleshooting (e.g., BGP, OSPF, ISIS, MPLS, or STP)
  • Experience in network operations and systematic troubleshooting
  • Industry certifications such as CCNA, CCNP, etc. or equivalent academic course work or experience
  • Experience with vendor relationship management and providing technical direction to vendors
  • Network operations experience while supporting large-scale network infrastructure preferably with a service provider or hyper scale environment
  • Expert knowledge of TCP/IP, IPv4, IPv6, network management/monitoring protocols and routing protocols such as BGP, ISIS, OSPF, and MPLS
  • Experience working in a customer-facing role at an ISP, carrier, content network, or CDN
  • Understanding of network operations at scale
  • Understanding of cloud computing, Linux server environments, network design and deployment, managing large scale infrastructure
