Key Responsibilities
R&D, Product Development & SustainLead concept design, prototyping, validation, and industrialization of electrical and automation systems.
Translate VOC insights and competitor benchmarking into design features and system enhancements.
Own engineering deliverables across the NPD lifecycle, ensuring compliance, quality, and performance goals are met.
Adapt and implement standardized designs/programs for other product variants.
Support field trials, prototype testing, and design validation for scalability and reliability.
Drive cost optimization, lifecycle improvements, and standardization in existing product platforms.
Contribute to DFMEA, DFM, and DFR activities to improve robustness and reduce lifecycle costs.
Electrical System Design & IntegrationDesign LV/MV/HV systems including MCCs, control panels, switchgear, transformers, and power distribution.
Perform panel design, transformer/generator/busbar sizing, and load/heat calculations.
Create electrical layouts, schematics, SLDs, GA drawings, wiring diagrams, and BOMs using E-Plan.
Ensure designs comply with global standards (Machinery, Low Voltage, EMC, RED Directives; UL/CE compliance preferred).
Promote modular and standardized electrical architectures for scalable platforms.
Controls Design & DevelopmentDesign and develop PLC programs (Allen-Bradley, Siemens) and HMI/SCADA interfaces (FactoryTalk View, WinCC).
Build standardized, modular control philosophies, libraries, and sequences.
Integrate instrumentation, sensors, and field devices with industrial communication protocols (Modbus, Profinet, OPC UA, Canbus).
Implement redundancy and fail-safe strategies for high availability and reliability.
Sustain & Field SupportSupport and guide Service and Quality teams in analyzing field issues by defining test procedures, conducting tests, and, if needed, traveling to installations.
Perform technical evaluation of engineering change requests (ECRs) for standard components and assemblies.
Provide technical support during market launch and assist Sales/Service teams with customer-specific issues.
Testing & ComplianceOversee EMC and environmental testing, including hands-on resolution at 3rd-party labs.
Set up and support panel/MCC/cable testing and validation against design and safety requirements.
Ensure electrical and control systems meet compliance and certification requirements for global markets.
Collaboration & MentoringWork closely with cross-functional teams, global R&D, and product management for integrated product delivery.
Represent engineering in design reviews, toll-gate meetings, risk assessments, and innovation workshops.
Mentor junior engineers, fostering a mindset of product development and Sustain support.
Travel globally for prototype testing, validation, and alignment with R&D and Sustain teams.
Skills & Qualifications
Must-HaveMaster's / Bachelor's degree in Electrical, Controls, Instrumentation, or Electronics Engineering.
5-10 years of experience in electrical and controls design with R&D, NPD, and Sustain exposure.
Proficiency in E-Plan and job-specific design tools.
Expertise in control panel/MCC design (Rockwell, Siemens) including UL/CE component and enclosure selection.
Strong knowledge of power distribution, protection devices, switchgear, and cable sizing.
Experience with PLC/HMI/SCADA development and IEC 61131-3 programming (Ladder, FBD, STL, SCL).
Familiarity with instrumentation and industrial communication protocols.
Hands-on experience with EMC/environmental testing and 3rd-party labs.
Proven experience with NPD and Sustain processes, including toll-gates, ECR handling, VOC, and competitor benchmarking.
Strong problem-solving, analytical, and English communication skills.
Nice-to-HaveExperience in water/wastewater or process industry projects.
Knowledge of backup power systems (generators, ATS, UPS).
Understanding of earthing, lightning protection, and power quality management.
Familiarity with IoT/IIoT-enabled control architectures.
Exposure to DFM/DFR practices and advanced data handling (SQL, VB, C).
Prior experience in EPC or OEM environments with integrated electrical + controls systems.
This role requires effective management of tasks and priorities along with strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
