Sr. Engineer /Engineer - CAE

R&D

with a strong academic background and hands-on experience in advanced simulation and digital technologies. The ideal candidate will have a solid foundation in mechanical engineering and a passion for applying emerging technologies such as AI/ML and Digital Twin in engineering research and development.

Our Team

Advanced Engineering team under Global Technical Centre is a core technical group that drives product innovation through advanced engineering simulation and analysis providing critical simulation support for product development across multiple business units. We partner with design and development teams to solve complex engineering challenges and validate product performance. We leverage the integration AI/ML, Digital Twin technologies, and advanced scripting and automation tools into the product development lifecycle to enhance prediction accuracy, accelerate development cycles, and unlock new performance insights.

What You Will Do

Conduct in-depth literature reviews and contribute to method development for advanced engineering problems. Drive research and innovation in areas related to material modeling, mechanical simulations, and digital engineering. Develop and validate FEA simulation material models like hyperelastic, creep, and strain-rate dependent materials etc. Implement scripting/coding solutions (Python, MATLAB, etc.) for automating simulations or integrating digital technologies. Explore and apply Artificial Intelligence/Machine Learning techniques in mechanical system modeling and data analysis. Handle Digital Twin development projects by creating virtual replicas of mechanical systems and components, predictive analytics, and continuous performance optimization. Collaborate with cross-functional teams on R&D projects, from concept to validation, Investigate and develop technologies to increase capabilities, reduce cost and improve the processes

Who You Are (Basic Qualifications)

Ph.D. or MTech in Mechanical Engineering, Applied Mechanics, or related fields. Graduate from IITs or equivalent premier institutes preferred. Proven experience in conducting research or literature surveys in mechanical domains. Basic hands-on experience in Finite Element Analysis (FEA) Proficiency in programming/scripting (Python, MATLAB, or equivalent). Exposure to AI/ML applications in engineering. Understanding material characterization techniques and modeling of non-linear materials. Excellent communication, analytical thinking, and documentation skills. Strong understanding of Engineering Mechanics, Strength of materials, Physics and Materials engineering Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills Must be technically competent, resourceful, and self-motivated. Must be able to work in a team and independently with minimum supervision. Strong verbal and written communication skills that demonstrates the ability to expresses technical concepts clearly and concisely Customer service skills to demonstrate the ability to respond to user problems with sense of urgency Good interpersonal skills to effectively work with co-workers and external contacts to respond positively to situations.

What Will Put You Ahead

Experience collaborating with cross-functional global teams, including design, testing, manufacturing, and product management. Involvement in patent filings, technical publications, or conference presentations showcasing innovation. Experience in handling large simulation datasets and applying statistical or data-mining methods for engineering insights. Working knowledge of mechanical failure modes (e.g., fatigue, wear, delamination) and incorporating them into simulations. Proficiency in technical documentation and creating high-quality reports for internal review and external stakeholders.
