The Senior Electrical Supervisor plays a key role in overseeing electrical installation and maintenance operations within a shipbuilding and construction environment. The role involves interpreting electrical drawings, monitoring cable installations, supervising maintenance activities, collaborating with subcontractors, and ensuring compliance with safety standards. The candidate will be responsible for planning, coordinating, and executing electrical works to meet project deadlines while maintaining high-quality standards.
Responsibilities:
Interpret and review production electrical drawings, correcting errors where necessary.
Prepare feasibility reports for electrical aspects of all projects.
Monitor conduit and cable laying in vessels, ensuring accuracy and compliance.
Supervise installation and termination of electrical systems in vessels.
Ensure proper fit-up and connection of electrical systems.
Perform routine and urgent maintenance operations on board vessels.
Maintain and repair electrical equipment, tools, and switchboards in the yard.
Collaborate with subcontractors for work planning and issue work completion certificates.
Maintain accurate records of all vessel-related electrical work.
Participate in production meetings with managers and provide updates.
Anticipate electrical hazards and implement safety measures.
Provide technical support to the R&D department when required.
Plan and prepare workflow charts for electrical tasks to align with project timelines.
Coordinate and mark electrical-related work locations on vessels.
Requirements:
Diploma/Degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent qualification.
Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in electrical supervision (shipbuilding/construction preferred).
Strong knowledge of electrical systems, cable installations, and termination methods.
Ability to read, interpret, and correct electrical drawings.
Hands-on experience in maintenance and repair of electrical systems and switchboards.
Strong leadership and team coordination skills.
Good problem-solving and analytical skills.
Knowledge of safety standards and ability to ensure compliance on-site.
Effective communication skills for cross-functional collaboration.
