Job Description

A Senior Electrical Engineer (DRI), or more specifically a Senior Electrical Design Engineer, is responsible for designing and developing electrical systems, often for specialized equipment or in a specific industry like data centers. This role involves conducting research, evaluating systems, collaborating with other teams, and ensuring compliance with relevant regulations and standards.
Key Responsibilities:
Design and Development:
Develops and designs electrical systems, equipment, components, and applications. This may involve creating specifications, drawings, and layouts using engineering software.
Research and Evaluation:
Conducts research to evaluate electrical systems, products, and components.
Collaboration:
Works closely with other engineering disciplines, including mechanical, civil, and architectural engineers.
Project Management:
May lead or support projects, including budgeting, procurement, installation, and startup of electrical projects.
Troubleshooting and Support:
Assists with troubleshooting and resolving electrical issues and faults.
Compliance:
Ensures designs comply with relevant codes and regulations, including federal, state, and municipal requirements.
Documentation:
Maintains updated documentation, including drawings and spare parts lists.
Training:
May provide training for production and maintenance personnel on new equipment.
Field Support:
Provides technical support during the installation and commissioning of systems, which may involve travel to different locations.
Qualifications:

• Education: Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Electrical Engineering Technology, or a related field.

• Experience: 5+ years of professional experience in electrical engineering.

• Technical Skills: Proficiency in design and engineering software, knowledge of electrical systems, components, and their applications.

• Other Skills: Good communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills.

Data Centers:
Many Senior Electrical Engineers work in data center design and engineering, designing power systems, cooling systems, and other critical infrastructure.
