Function Overview

The Digital and Technology team at General Mills stands as the largest and foremost unit, dedicated to exploring the latest trends and innovations in technology while leading the adoption of cutting-edge technologies across the organization. Collaborating closely with global business teams, the focus is on understanding business models and identifying opportunities to leverage technology for increased efficiency and disruption. Purpose of the Role

Serve as a

techno-functional system architect

bridging business needs and technical execution in ITQ - PLM domain Own and evolve the

PLM / BOM / Supply Chain

workstream within the pet food domain -- from requirement through implementation, support, and optimization Lead cross-system

integration strategy

between SAP and non-SAP landscapes, ensuring seamless data flows and system coherence Drive transformation across PLM workstreams by translating business vision into technical roadmaps and scalable solutions Act as a trusted analyst, mentoring stakeholders, steering systemic improvements, and shaping the future of PLM system

Skills & Capabilities Required

Expert Level (you bring mastery and can lead from day one)

Deep expertise in SAP supply chain modules -- MM & PP -- with strong command of Bill of Materials, Material Master, Engineering Change Management, Quality Info Records, Quality Inspection Plan and downstream functions
Proven track record of leading system integrations (SAPnon-SAP systems), managing data mapping, interface design, error handling, and reconciliation Mastery in SAP master data management and advanced change control (engineering change number, versioning, dependencies) Strategic thinker: able to set integration architecture, roadmap, standards, and governance Strong analyst mindset -- problem decomposition, structured thinking, root-cause analysis Strong written and verbal communication, stakeholder engagement, ability to facilitate meetings and capture requirements Mentor team mates on upskilling SAP expertise Co-ordinate with Vendors to ensure alignment on strategy & On time delivery with high quality.

Intermediate Level (you have experience and are growing into the expert domain)

Hands-on exposure to PLM / lifecycle management tools (Optiva PLM or equivalent) Domain experience in manufacturing / supply chain environments Experience in leading Data Migration, Cutover & Blackout planning activities Understanding of Automation testing

Basic Level (you know the fundamentals and can contribute / grow)

Fundamentals of ABAP debugging (reading logs, tracing code, interpreting dumps) Familiarity with MuleSoft or similar middleware / integration platforms Basic exposure to cloud platforms / GCP or relevant technology stack Use of data upload tools (e.g. WinShuttle or similar) Understanding of ADO fundamentals & Agile Methodology

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES

Define & own the strategic roadmap for PLM / Spec to BOM workstream, ensuring alignment with business goals for PET. Lead and manage end-to-end system integrations between SAP and non-SAP applications. Translate business requirements into robust technical and functional designs. Maintain and improve master data, BOM configurations, and change control processes. Ensure high quality through test planning, execution, UAT, stabilization & compliance. Act as consultant to business stakeholders -- assess impacts, foresee constraints, and recommend optimal solutions. Champion process improvements by identifying recurring system health issues and driving corrective action. Oversee vendor/developer delivery, ensuring that solutions match specifications and timelines. Communicate changes effectively to all levels of users, tailoring messages for varying technical understanding. Support operational excellence -- sustain day-to-day stability, manage enhancements, and facilitate initiatives that drive business growth.
