Reviewing customer technical requirements and specifications and incorporating into project designs.


Preparing technical specifications and conduct bid tab reviews.


Troubleshooting of refractory insulating systems and other plant problems.


Providing operating plant support


Investigate causes of equipment failure. Develop repair methods and design changes to improve equipment reliability.


Travel to supplier and operating plant sites both domestically and internationally is required. The amount of travel is normally 15-30%.


Mentor and train junior mechanical engineers.


To have wide experience in international standards and considerable experience in International Customer Specification/Standards related to industrial boiler design.


To have varied exposure in multi-disciplinary interface coordination, to have effective comments consolidation for timely review cycle.


Should have in depth brownfield experience in execution of combustion package items, to foresee site challenges and take corrective measures.


Should possess fair knowledge in process design (P&ID, PFD, HMB, hydraulics and combustion calculations).


Should have considerable knowledge in piping design (viz. plot plan, isometrics, pipe thickness calculations, pipe support hangers, 3D modelling).


To effectively interface with metallurgy, civil, electrical, instrument, HSE, quality and logistics aspects of boiler design.


To review effectively Vendor documents from boiler vendor with all aspects of boiler design.


Should develop Vendor document review strategy to freeze design on target date in line with milestone planning.


Able to find deviations between boiler vendor standard and International Customer Specification/ Standards for boiler design.


To have periodic interactive and effective communication with boiler vendor to resolve Vendor document comments and finalize design as per schedule.


To ensure timely inputs to downstream and upstream disciplines to drive non-boiler scope engineering for this project.


Participate in P&ID review meetings, HAZOP and 3D model reviews as per project needs.


Review progress and quality of deliverables, reporting etc., of boiler vendor.


To finalize suitable boiler design definition, hence facilitating material take off to Customer for effective cost estimate development.
