Role Purpose




Development of Doors & Closures structure parts

Responsibilities/ task



Key Responsibilities with brief description according to priority



Development & design know how of Doors & Closures structure parts (Side doors, Hood, Tailgate, fuel lid & charge port) Initial Technical Evaluation of Suppliers and support during nominations. Conducting and reviewing TKO's and collaborating with Cross functional teams during Sign-off of multiple requirements. APQP/PPAP & PFMEA: Know-how of phases and ability to create, review and participate. Cross-functional Collaboration with Design, manufacturing, QA, SQA & Supplier to meet cost & project timelines. Analyze design feasibility considering manufacturing processes, tooling constraints, stamping simulation reports and coordinate with supplier accordingly. Testing & Proto Support: Support Prototype builds activities, conduct design reviews, address engineering changes based on physical testing and team feedback to verify performance and quality Supplier Management: Engage with suppliers to ensure deliverables meet quality, timing, and cost targets, supporting purchasing, costing and supply chain teams as required. Candidate should have executed at least couple of Development projects throughout the product lifecycle (design assessment for tooling to SOP). Risk Management: Identify and mitigate risks related to design, manufacturing, and program timelines, escalating issues as needed.

Having 7-10 years of experience in development of Doors & Closures structure parts (Side doors, Hood, Tailgate, fuel lid & charge port)

Strong communication skills to analyse and deal with critical events during product development cycle

Key Performance Indicators



Ensuring timely completion of project phases Vs planned. Monitoring adherence to industry standards, regulations, functionality & Safety compliance Document and Maintain records & coordinating Key points across Cross functions. Supporting and providing solutions during Field Issues

B.E., in Mechanical or Production or Industrial Engineering (college of technology / university OR Post Diploma / Diploma in Mechanical or Production or Industrial Engineering (college of technology / university)

Critical Skill Sets (Technical)

Understanding of tool design, tooling feasibilities, 2D drawings, Catia CAD designs, DVP reports & coordination with teams.

Material Knowledge: Understanding of materials used in Doors & Closures (Steel, Aluminum, alternate materials) including their mechanical properties, durability.

Manufacturing & Tool design: Knowledge of automotive manufacturing processes like drawing, forming, Cam tooling, hot stamping, hydroforming, etc.

Proficiency in data management and collaboration platforms to coordinate with design, manufacturing, and quality teams Awareness of automotive standards and regulations related to safety, environmental, and quality requirements.
