Position Title: Sr. Designer/Modeler (Electrical Engineer) Job Location: Bangalore, KA-India Job Purpose

To design and develop complex product and component concepts for release to production in a manner to ensure superior performance, durability, reliability, quality, and serviceability to the worldwide marketplace. Helps maintain top level configurations.



Job Duties:

• The Sr. Designer/Modeler is a member of a design and development team that conceives and provides practical and improved product design applications. Emphasis of this position is on conceiving complex product designs and preparing design models. Supports engineers and technologists in defining configuration and helps resolve design issues. Possesses initiative to resolve design issues with minimal supervision.
• The Sr. Designer/Modeler conceives complex product design concepts and prepares design models using a computer graphics system. Makes calculations, design decisions, and necessary analysis and computer simulations. Works closely with engineers, technologists, technicians, manufacturing personnel, and suppliers regarding product design, test, and production schedule dates. Provides technical guidance to Manufacturing, Quality, Purchasing, Marketing, Sales, Service, and other departments.
• Refines and improves product designs by investigating and developing solutions to product design problems. Works with customers, dealers, and other departments throughout the resolution process. Works within established development plans and production release. May recommend approval or rejection of engineering design deviations and change requests submitted by other departments.
• Provides technical guidance to Designer/Modeler, drafting personnel and assembly or manufacturing processors. Ensures exacting engineering standards are followed for assembly and piece part tolerance, material finish, clearances, etc. Furnishes technical counsel to Layout Drafters, Drafting Technicians, and purchased drafting support in assigned areas of responsibility. Provides guidance to Assemblers, Test Technologists, and Test Engineers during product buildup and testing. Ensures proper maintenance of production drawings.
• Travels to foreign and domestic production plants, dealerships, and customer job sites to recommend solutions to design problems and goes to field test locations to assist with the development of engineering projects. Develops unique design features that the Company often patents to gain a competitive advantage.
  
  Background/Experience:
  
• Requires a bachelor?s degree in an accredited Engineering or Computer Science or Materials Science curriculum plus
• 1 to 2 years experience or a masters or doctorate degree in Engineering or Computer Science or Materials Science.
• High level of proficiency in Pro/E or other modeling or simulation tools is highly desirable.
• Requires good mechanical, electrical/electronic, and computer aptitude, as well as good communications skills.
• This is the second level of engineering assignment in which incumbents have exhibited ability to begin working independently and have demonstrated the ability to apply theory and concept, either through on-the-job experience or advanced degree.

:

• Candidate should have 4-6 years of experience in Electrical Engineering steam.
• Candidate having experience with Switch Gear industry background is preferred.
• Candidate should mandatorily have hands on experience with Auto CAD Electrical / E- Plan.
• Good understanding and system level knowledge of Switchgears, Genset electricals and control panels.
• Candidate should have Minimum 3 years of Experience on Designing Medium Voltage / Low Voltage switchgears with ANSI / IEEE standards.
• Candidate should be capable to communicate and coordinate with global engineers.
• Creo- Electrical skills are added advantage.
• Should be conversant with Microsoft office tools.
• PLC programming will be added advantage.
• Candidate should have Bachelor Degree on Electrical and Electronics Engineering ( EEE ) Mandatorily.
