Design and development of automotive

Exterior Lighting

Responsibilities/ task



Key Responsibilities with brief description according to priority



Design and development of Automotive Exterior Lighting components, including Headlamps, Tail lamps, and Signal lamps with various lighting technology e.g. Halogen, LED, Matrix etc. Lead the concept development, detailed design, and integration of Internal Components of various Exterior Light Modules etc. Should be able to design and develop the master section, concept detailing independently. Aware of lighting functions high/ low beam, DRL, fog, stop, tail signal functions etc. Knowledge of regulations ECE, SAE, NAS, FMVSS etc. applicable to lighting Aware of the RFQ, TKO, SOP process and project cycle. Candidate should have executed at least couple of related engineering projects throughout the product lifecycle. creation and modification of CAD models and drawings in required CAD software (Catia-V5/NX) To follow defined Magna Styer processes, customer standards and maintain quality and delivery targets in day-to-day customer deliveries. Coordinate with CAE, NVH, Crash, Manufacturing, Quality, and Serviceability teams for integrated vehicle performance Manage design feasibility with respect to joining techniques and assembly constraints Interact with suppliers and manufacturing, for tool validation, part feasibility, and cost optimization Support design validation activities including prototype builds, physical testing, and correlation with simulation Contribute to DFMEA, DVP, BOM generation, change management, and gate reviews Ensure compliance with regulatory crash, pedestrian safety standard Customer data management Perform quality check as per established guidelines. Guide, support and train Engineers & Junior Engineers in day-to-day design activities. Whenever required take responsibility of a product and manage small team to execute the tasks. Should be Flexible enough to take the job assignment at any customer location (Domestic & Global assignment) as mentioned in the appointment letter.

B.E., in Mechanical or Production or Industrial Engineering (college of technology / university OR Post Diploma / Diploma in Mechanical or Production or Industrial Engineering (college of technology / university)

6.0 to 9.0 Years

Critical Skill Sets (Technical)



Good knowledge in CATIA V5/NX (3D + 2D).

Exposure to automotive Exterior Lighting engineering and design. Electrics / Electronics, PCBA design requirement, wire harness basic knowledge

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

Team orientation and willingness to learn new skills. More than 6 years of total professional experience Experience of automotive plastic product design Knowledge of Release Process in either of Team Center / Enovia / PLM Knowledge of Requirements for - Lighting technologies, Packaging, Part to part Interface, Materials, etc.
