Job Title: Senior Design Engineer

Reports To: Engineering Manager / Design Head

Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Design Engineer with 6-8 years of experience in product design and development using SolidWorks. The candidate will be responsible for leading design projects, developing 3D models and detailed drawings, conducting design validations, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to deliver innovative, cost-effective, and reliable solutions.

Key Responsibilities

Lead and execute end-to-end design projects from concept to production. Create and manage 3D models, assemblies, and detailed drawings in SolidWorks. Perform tolerance analysis, GD&T, and BOM creation. Conduct DFMEA, DFA/DFM reviews, and support prototyping and testing. Collaborate with manufacturing, quality, and supply chain teams to ensure design
Feasibility and cost optimization.

Mentor and guide junior engineers in design best practices and CAD methodologies. Ensure designs comply with industry standards, safety regulations, and company guidelines. Manage engineering change requests (ECR/ECN) and documentation. Work with vendors and customers for design reviews, approvals, and technical clarifications. Continuously drive innovation, efficiency, and process improvements in product design.

Required Qualifications & Skills

B.Tech / B.E. in Mechanical / Production / Industrial Engineering (or related discipline). 6-8 years of hands-on experience in design engineering with SolidWorks (mandatory). Strong knowledge of mechanical design principles, materials, and manufacturing processes
(sheet metal, machining, plastics, casting, etc.).

Proficiency in GD&T, tolerance stack-up, PDM/PLM systems. Experience in product lifecycle management, prototyping, and validation testing. Good understanding of CAE tools (FEA/CFD) is an added advantage. Strong problem-solving skills, creativity, and attention to detail. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for cross-functional collaboration.
