Job Description

Job Purpose

The Design Engineer is responsible for developing, modifying, and improving products, components, and systems based on technical requirements. This role involves concept development, 3D modeling, prototyping, testing, and ensuring product designs meet quality, cost, and performance standards.

Key Responsibilities

Develop 3D models, assemblies, and detailed engineering drawings using SolidWorks software Conduct design calculations, material selection, and engineering analysis for product performance. Generate innovative concepts and convert them into manufacturable designs. Work with cross-functional teams such as Production, Quality, Purchase, and Maintenance to finalize product feasibility. Review, modify, and improve existing designs for better efficiency, durability, or cost reduction. Prepare BOM (Bill of Materials), technical documentation, and engineering reports. Coordinate prototype development, testing, and validation. Ensure designs comply with industry standards and regulatory requirements. Collaborate with vendors to ensure timely sourcing of materials and components. Support troubleshooting during production, installation, and after-sales phases. Participate in design reviews and incorporate feedback into iterative improvements.

Required Skills & Qualifications

Bachelor's Degree/Diploma in Mechanical Engineering or related field. 5-7 years of experience in product design or mechanical design (Plastic industry preferred). Strong proficiency in CAD tools (SolidWorks) Knowledge of GD&T, tolerance stack-up, and engineering standards. Understanding of manufacturing processes Analytical mindset with strong problem-solving abilities. Good communication and documentation skills.
