Job Description

Key Responsibilities:

Design & Development

Create and review 2D & 3D designs of injection moulds, die-casting moulds, blow moulds, or press tools using CAD software SolidWorks. Understand product drawings, specifications, and customer requirements to design moulds accordingly. Ensure designs are optimized for manufacturability, durability, cost-effectiveness, and efficiency.

Technical Expertise

Select appropriate mould materials, cooling systems, ejector systems, gating & runner design. Conduct feasibility studies, tolerance stack-ups, and DFM (Design for Manufacturing) analysis. Suggest design improvements for cycle time reduction and defect minimization.

Project Management

Coordinate with customers, production, purchase, and tool room teams for design approvals and changes. Prepare BOM (Bill of Materials) and design documentation. Support tooling team during mould manufacturing, assembly, and trials.

Problem-Solving

Provide technical support in resolving issues during mould manufacturing, trials, and production runs. Analyze mould failures and recommend corrective actions.

Team & Leadership

Guide junior designers/draftsmen in design activities. Conduct design reviews and provide training on CAD software and mould design standards.

Required Skills & Knowledge

Strong knowledge of mould design standards (Injection moulds, Compression moulds, Die-casting, etc.). Proficiency in CAD/CAE software. Knowledge of machining, EDM, CNC, and tool room practices. Familiarity with plastics, metals, and mould steel grades. Understanding of GD&T and engineering drawings.

Pay: ₹50,000.00 - ₹80,000.00 per month
