Job Overview


This position will be approximately 25% Development DBA and 75% Production DBA work. Responsibilities include work on both Oracle and SQL Server platforms.
Essential Functions


Provide 24x7 coverage for Database environment Maintain database backups and perform test recoveries in SQL Server and Oracle environments. Plan and test disaster recovery processes as they relate to the databases Monitor and address database related application issues on production databases Upgrade and maintain Oracle and related software (apply Oracle CPUs, upgrade database version) in coordination with IT staff Upgrade and maintain SQL Server and related software (apply patches and updates when necessary) Coordinate removal and/or archiving of data that is no longer required to be available in the production databases. Software Development and Support Design and create databases to support develop initiatives Maintain development database environments for programming and new solutions teams Refresh and cloning of production databases into test environments Develop software to support development initiatives Develop and co-develop (with the programming group) new applications Consult on data access queries (SQL) for ad hoc analysis. Configure and maintain different High availability options for either Oracle (oracle RAC) or SQL Server(Always ON, sql clustering) Configure and maintain DB replicas for either oracle (dataguard, golden gate) or SQl Server (mirroring, log shipping) Research various data migration techniques to efficiently migrate DBs from one DC to another for datacenter consolidation Research and incorporate new features to improve DB services Mentor junior/new DBA team members May be required to manage a team of DBAs Qualifications


Bachelor's Degree Experience with SQL Server versions 2005 to 2016 Experience running and troubleshooting SSIS packages Experience troubleshooting performance issues in the SQL Server environment Experience with performance tuning on SQL Server 2008 R2 and SQL Server 2016. Scripting and coding Pref Linux shell scripting Pref Perl scripting / programming Pref PowerShell scripting Pref VB and C# .NET programming SSRS 2008 R2 and SSRS 2016 Oracle Advanced Oracle Enterprise Edition (11g and 12c) running on Oracle Enterprise Linux 7 Advanced Oracle Enterprise Manager Advanced ASM Advanced PL/SQL Package writing and maintenance Materialized Views Message Queue/Advanced Queueing/AQ RMAN Advanced Knowledge of installing ORACLE CPUs Intermediate TOAD and Oracle Enterprise Manager Experience with SQL Server versions 2005 to 2016 Advanced Experience running and troubleshooting SSIS packages Intermediate Experience troubleshooting performance issues in the SQL Server environment Advanced Experience with performance tuning on SQL Server 2008 R2 and SQL Server 2016.
