Vacancy: Sr Coordinator, Agriculture Self-Employed Women\xe2\x80\x99s Association (SEWA) Cooperative Federation Introduction Self-Employed Women\xe2\x80\x99s Association (SEWA) is a movement of women workers in the informal economy, working towards the economic empowerment of these workers. Over 50 years, 2.1 million women in India across 18 states have become members of this decentralized, grassroots movement. SEWA Cooperative Federation, works to support women\xe2\x80\x99s collective enterprises (WCEs), across sectors, enabling them to become viable, to innovate and to scale. Over 30 years, we have promoted 100+ women\xe2\x80\x99s cooperatives, reaching 300,000 informal women workers, across sectors of work: agriculture and allied activities, handicrafts, services, social security, \xef\xac\x81nance and vending. We offer specialized services, such as capacity building, governance, working capital, \xef\xac\x81nance and compliance, research, marketing and communications to these WCEs, and work with them closely, as mentors, to enable growth. This package of services and handholding is offered as a Women\xe2\x80\x99s Enterprise Support System. 5- 6 years of experience in Agriculture Extension/ Field Implementation or similar profile Qualification:

• Bachelor or Masters in Agriculture (soil Science/ plant breeding etc) from deputy university
• M.Sc. in Agriculture or MBA Rural Management or an equivalent degree

Skills:

• The Agriculture Manager is expected to guide any cooperatives, which operate in this sector, with streamlining operations, and towards reliability.
• The Manager would balance their role as the nexus between an instructor, consultant, and coach; providing wisdom and advice to the cooperative(s) and its management, and acting as a trusted advisor, embodying the values.
• The Manager would have demonstrated expertise in the sector or domain and has established networks, which can be leveraged to provide technical support to the enterprise beyond the mentor\xe2\x80\x99s area of expertise.
• Experience in working with the government and various external stakeholders. Also experience in managing and training field staff
• Experience of leading or working with ICT-enabled agricultural extension systems
• Familiarity with MS office, and basic knowledge of computers and software
• Strong communications, written and presentation skills
• Proficiency in Gujarati language is mandatory; Proficiency in Hindi/local dialect is highly preferable
• Commitment to agriculture based sustainable rural development and transformation
• Willingness to travel to field locations, primarily in Tapi district

Responsibilities:

• Conducting and managing implementation of field activities, including qualitative surveys and focus group discussions over phone and in-person; training of field staff; monitoring of surveys including productivity and back checks; and regular communications with research team to provide updates
• Developing strategy, managing field plan, and conducting capacity building measures for external stakeholders such as farmers and government extension workers
• Guide the overall vision and strategy of the cooperative(s), through regular engagement with the senior management
• Advice on business-related issues, particularly for the operations and marketing team within the cooperative(s)
