The Role: Consultant, Energy Transitions and Clean Technology

IHS Markit's fast growing Energy Transition and Cleantech Consulting team helps clients across energy, industry, finance and government identify and act on the opportunities and challenges arising from global decarbonization and the energy transition. Our engagements span a wide range from advising governments on energy and climate policy through to developing energy transition strategies, and market assessments and due diligence exercises for low carbon technologies and assets.

Your Role:

You will be a key member of the IHS Markit Global Energy Transitions and Clean Technology team. Reporting into the India team, you will support the business development, conceptualization and delivery of key clean energy projects.

Key responsibilities include:

  • New business development. Interact with clients to identify core energy transition issues to be addressed; develop compelling and responsive proposals; work with IHS Markit sales team and other colleagues to successfully close consulting project opportunities.
  • Project management. Lead consulting assignments for key public and private sector clients across the xx region, and globally when required. Effectively supervise junior team members; provide guidance, support and on-the-job learning opportunities. Deliver high quality outcomes which meet or exceed client expectations.
  • Consulting project delivery. Act as a core team member and contribute expertise to assignments both within and outside the region; support delivery of a wide range of energy transition project types.
  • Marketing. Continuously broaden knowledge across the energy transition and cleantech space; build external recognition through interactions with clients, presentations at client, company and industry events, and collaboration with sales/marketing staff.
Dependent on current travel and health advice/restrictions, regional and occasional intercontinental travel may be required for customer-facing activities. This will typically be up to 25% (maximum) of working time on average over any year.

What We're Looking For:
  • Bachelors Degree, economics/technical preferred. 6-10 years industry experience. MBA a strong plus.
  • Expert knowledge of Microsoft Office Professional Suite, especially Excel including ability to write and debug macros.
  • A conceptual understanding of the energy business. Background into climate and energy transition subjects will be helpful.
  • Personable interface at multiple levels within a client's organization.
  • Cooperatively work across IHS Markit at multiple levels to efficiently and effectively utilize the resources and knowledge base available in a team approach.
  • Communicating internationally with consultants in other world regions in multiple time zones effectively.
  • Excellent written communication skills.
  • Ability to travel (Including international travel)
