The Opportunity:

The Lead Cloud Systems Engineer is the primary source for Infrastructure support of all commercial environments - for any day-to-day operations issues, and for upcoming projects/setups. On any given workday he/she may be responsible for all, or any subset of Systems, Hardware, and Platforms, ensuring proper prioritization of activities and coordination/communication of these activities with management, next-tier support organizations, including Engineering, and their respective peers. He/she will provide continuous support, escalating any proactive events to prevent client impact.

You are great at:

  • Build Virtual Machines & Physical Machines per Standard setups.
  • Public Cloud Administration (Google / Azure / VMware).
  • Kubernetes Node updates using Terraform.
  • Systems performance tuning and Administration.
  • Migrations, Upgrades, and Patching of the Systems and their Firmware.
  • Participate in Change management meetings, Readiness Reviews, Engineering/Comm Ops meetings, etc. as required to fulfill team responsibilities.
  • Fulfillment of team responsibilities may require, from time to time, working outside of normally scheduled shift time to complete projects, maintenance, and/or meet business commitments.
  • Working cross-functionally with the NOC (Tier I), Engineering and Deployment teams is critically important for the success of the larger organization.
  • Fully support Change Management, Release Management, Problem Management and Ops PMO activities/projects.
  • Respond to Incident calls, joining conference bridges and MOC's.
  • Proactively drive and troubleshoot issues.
  • Position needs to participate in scheduled Systems Maintenance activities during off hours/weekends, and on-call rotation.
What it takes:

Education: B.S / B.E. in Computer Science or equivalent.

Experience: 5-8 years of experience in Systems Administration and supporting Commercial environments.
  • Operating Systems: Advanced administration skills on Redhat Linux, and Windows.
  • Systems Admin experience on Private Cloud infra setup and GPC & AWS infrastructure setups.
  • Experience Working on VMware, NetBackup, F5 load balancers, DNS, and Networking.
  • Expertise in Iaac concept and strong in coding PowerShell / shell scripting, Python scripting, and Terraform.
  • Experience in developing and Deploying Ansible playbooks by integrating with Linux administration modules.
  • Desirable additional experience working on Storage Systems, San Switches, and ESX Clusters.
  • Good analyzing & communication skills, self-motivated and passionate.
  • Ability to troubleshoot issues in high-pressure situations, resolving problems in a timely manner and keeping stake holders involved/updated.
