Job Summary

The Senior Billing Engineer is responsible for preparing, verifying, and managing project billing, measurements, and cost control activities for civil construction projects. The role ensures accurate client billing, subcontractor payments, and compliance with contract terms, drawings, and specifications.

Key Responsibilities

Billing & Measurement

Prepare

RA bills, final bills, and variation bills

as per contract conditions Take

accurate measurements

from drawings and site execution Prepare

BOQs, abstracts, and reconciliation statements

Verify contractor and subcontractor bills Ensure timely submission and follow-up of client bills

Cost Control & Documentation

Monitor project costs against budgets and BOQs Prepare

rate analysis

for extra items and non-BOQ works Maintain billing records, MBs, and supporting documents Coordinate with planning and execution teams for quantity tracking

Contracts & Coordination

Interpret

contract clauses

, technical specifications, and drawings Handle claims, variations, and change orders Coordinate with site engineers, project managers, and consultants Assist in finalization of subcontractor accounts

Reporting

Prepare monthly billing and cost reports Highlight cost deviations and recovery status Support audits and client reviews

Qualifications

B.E./B.Tech or Diploma in Civil Engineering

8-10 years of relevant experience in civil construction projects (roads, buildings, infrastructure, etc.)

Skills & Competencies

Strong knowledge of

billing, quantity surveying, and contracts

Proficient in

AutoCAD, MS Excel

,

and billing software

Good understanding of civil construction drawings and specifications Strong analytical and documentation skills Effective communication and coordination abilities Should have knowledge in ERP Software

Preferred Experience

Experience in

infrastructure, high-rise, industrial, or EPC projects

Familiarity with

client billing procedures and consultants' approvals
