:

The role is based in the Pune R&D Center, at SAS R&D Pune facility. The candidate will work as a technical writer to document products that cater to domains such as customer intelligence, supply chain management, retail, and banking.

As a technical writer, the candidate will be responsible for designing and developing information that describes the capabilities of SAS software and shows how to use the software to achieve business goals.

Here are the primary responsibilities of the role:Create deliverables that address the needs and preferences of the target audience for a given SAS product or offering. Follow company guidelines (such as those for Global English or Accessibility) to provide a good experience for all customers. Engage with the product development team to work on assigned documentation projects.

Furthermore, you will be joining a friendly team with a broad range of cross skills and experience.

Essential Technology Experience:

Ability to develop information that is clear and concise and to apply standard rules of grammar and usage. Knowledge of business or industry lexicon appropriate to assignments. Ability to develop examples that demonstrate understanding of software products and business domains appropriate to assignments. Ability to use the tooling and technical environments associated with developing and testing software products. Ability to use tools that are required to develop information and produce customer-facing deliverables. Ability to work as a team member. Good organizational and creative problem-solving skills. Primary Responsibilities

Design and develop customer-facing deliverables in the form of product documentation, embedded user assistance, how-to videos, articles, and so on as determined by the needs and preferences of the target audience. Develop clear, accurate and concise information, following all guidelines consistently and effectively. Guidelines include standard rules of grammar and usage as well as corporate guidelines in the form of content models, style guidelines, and editorial guidelines. Work effectively with product development teams (including software developers and testers, product managers, technical support analysts, training consultants, and professional services implementation teams) to develop knowledge about product functionality and target audience, communicate status to all stakeholders, and produce deliverables that meet targets for quality and timeliness. Collaborate with user experience designers and software developers to provide clear, globalized user interface text and software messages. Use expertise to develop meaningful examples for the target audience. Respond directly to customer questions and feedback related to projects or areas of expertise.

Background and Experience

SAS is seeking a senior associate technical writer who has 2-4 years of professional experience as a technical writer documenting software. The candidate must have excellent written and verbal communication skills and must have a bachelor's degree in a technical or quantitative field.

As a technical writer, the candidate must demonstrate these capabilities:Design and develop information that describes the capabilities of SAS software and shows how to use the software to achieve business goals. Create deliverables that address the needs and preferences of the target audience for a given SAS product or offering. Follow company guidelines (such as those for Global English or Accessibility) to provide a good experience for all customers. Engage with product development teams to contribute to overall software quality and customer satisfaction. Network with senior internal and external personnel in own area of expertise. * Receive minimal instruction on day-to-day work, general instructions on assignments from a senior technical writer or the documentation manager.
